End Of The Reign Aims For 3 In A Row
Welcome to Ireland for this week’s feature, the Queen Of The Well Special. The fillies and mares will be going 11 furlongs on the turf course for a purse of $80,000. We have a short field of six runners, but it is certainly not lacking in either talent or big name trainers. On the rail at 8/1 is Elalysian owned by oaklawn66. She is a four year old by Sakhee out of an Ela-Mana-Mou(Ire) mare. She just scored her second allowance victory last time out, running an 82 over 13 furlongs. She’s run as fast as a 90 though at 12 furlongs, so if she’s on top of her game today, she should be able to hang with this crowd. A. Jewell is her jockey. In post two at 3/1 is Amaratica owned by plstable. She is a five year old by Johannesburg based on a Sadler’s Wells horse. She is stakes placed, and appeared in the Equinics as a three year old. She’s run a couple of 95s, and ran a 92 last time out at today’s distance…a perfect prep race leading up to this. A. Jones will be riding. In post three at 13/1 is Tete L’Epoque(Ire) owned by sabbath. She is a four year old by King Of Kings(Ire) based on a Cat Thief horse. Her odds may seem high, but a big reason for that is because she has been spending her time recently dusting claimers and computer horses in starter allowances. She ran a 90 in her last race at 12 furlongs, so she has more ability than her previous speed figures would indicate. With A. Reed in the leathers today, she may be worth putting some money on.In post four at 4/1 is Dead Solid Perfect(Ire) owned by snowchief. She is a four year old by High Chaparral(Ire) out of a Kris S. mare. She’s only run 11 times, and has been handled very smartly by her veteran trainer, running through all but one of her conditions. She is making her stakes debut today, and has run as fast as 95 at nine furlongs. She has won two of her last three, running second last time out at today’s distance. I. M. Buttons gets the mount. The overwhelming favourite at 8/5 is End Of The Reign owned by theprofit2. The five year old War Emblem mare is ranked #72 in the older females long turf division. She won three stakes last year, and two of them were her last two starts. She is coming off a victory in the Louisiana Fox Stakes at today’s distance, in which she ran a 99 while winning by 4 lengths. She prefers to go right to the front, and with Mizzi Russell up, her short odds are well justified.Rounding out the field at 5/2 is Sunbilla owned by sonsierra. She is a four year old by Mining out of a Nureyev mare. She has not won a stakes yet, but she was graded placed twice as a juvenile and also appeared in the Equinics. She also likes to go for the lead, and will likely challenge the favourite up front. She is coming off two consecutive allowance victories, and has run a top speed of 96. Top jockey Z. Kentucky has chosen her as his mount. Wow, this looks like another great race. The top two betting choices look to go to the front and try to take it gate to wire, but Amaratica has proven she can run a good race by stalking before, Elalysian seems to prefer that style, and the other two like to come from farther back, so an upset is not out of the question here. Good luck to all the runners and may they all come home sound.
