Liberalia Set To Shine

Liberalia Set To Shine

8 fillies and mares have arrived in Vermont for the big one this week, the Mac’s Courage Memorial Stakes. $80,000 is up for grabs and several look to have claims, Liberalia, Numerous II and Moment Of Pang looking set to shine.

Running Over You is a 4 year old filly from the doza barns and is rated an 8/1 chance with the bookies. This 4 year old is lightly raced and is better known for her achievements on the turf than the dust. Having said that she has raced on the dirt 3 times and been very good so is every chance at running a big one here. Big Watch, top chance if surface is to her liking.

Prahran is a nice 3 year old by Gone West. Just 18 career starts to date she has had a great start to her career and has been flying of late. Perhaps a little rough to leave her out of the introduction, this gal from the mook barns is every chance at taking the cake here. Promising young gun.

Vikingsholm is a 6/1 shot and has drawn gate 3 for this and from there should get a good run. Form of late not stacking up to some of the others in this and she could find this a little tough. Capable of running well if on song however I don’t think she’ll be in the first 3 over the line.

Moment Of Pang (IRE) hails from the barns of up and coming young trainer sime11. He’s shown he has an eye for placing his horses following the recent achievements with Scorpio Rising and has a great chance for this with his boom filly Moment Of Pang. The Hawk Wing 3 year old thrived on the change in riding instructions last start where she took the lead and against open opposition was only headed in the home straight by boom 3 year old colt King Of Kilmore. I imagine she’ll gun for the lead again and looks every chance of leading them all the way into the straight but whether she can hold out the likes of Numerous II and Liberalia remains to be seen.

Haynie’s Maria nah, no chance. Form of late not crash hot for this. Would prefer to see her in something a little easier.

Liberalia looks a sensational filly. She’ll give this a huge shake. Ranked 10 in the turf classic division this Seeking The Gold filly is fantastic value at 6/1. I would mark her hardest to beat and can see her notching up her 8th career win here, especially with the guidance of top hoop W McClendon in the saddle. Hard to beat.

Obsession K’s  is a 4 year old filly who always gives her all. She is an accomplished stakes runner who is always there abouts and has 10 wins to her name. A nice Kingmambo filly from the supreme barns she will run her usual good race but I don’t think she quite has the edge needed to take this one out.

Numerous II is another hard one to go past her form speaks for itself and that is the reason she steps out 2/1 favourite for this. Lightly raced for a 5 year old having had just 18 career starts she is proof that patience is a virture. An awesome run last time out gave her 3rd position in a grade 3 and her form before that in stakes level is better than the rest here. Should be very hard to hold out and am sure will look the winner at some stage in the race.

Summary: a great race beckons. Numerous II and Liberalia look the obvious choices while Moment Of Pang should run a huge race at 8/1.
