Dual stakes victoress Deseeker leads Indiana filly sprint

Indiana–   Eight freshmen fillies vie for the $80,000 Not Made In China Stakes.  The field includes a few stakes winners and several promising winners.   All test 7.5 furlong son the main track……

On the rail, tribeca’s Above The World checks in at 6/1.  The E Dubai daughter makes stakes debut after winning 2 of 5 so far.  Closer should enjoy expected pace frazzle and her two straight 82 SP#s match the faves’ lifetime bests.  Excellent chance to pull off a win or a least hit the board.

Next up, we have marksund’s Wild’s Child going off as the longest shot on the board at 14/1.  Modestly bred by Doneraile Court, the filly managed a score in her debut before experimenting in race tactics.  Hung in there decently for third place over 7f LTO from midpack.  Step up in class for her and probably isn’t ready just yet too.  Outside chance, but anything can happen with the babies.

Though she’s actually the second choice in the field (5/2), Deseeker presides as the most accomplished in the field.   The Dehere speedster hasn’t finished off the board in 7 outings and comes into this event fresh.   She picked up her 2nd career stakes victory at Wisconsin LTO wire to wire with an 82 SP#.  Beautiful filly — the only thing that you can fault her with is that her speed figures aren’t really eye-catching.  Nevertheless, she can well handle this group and shows some guts when pressed too.  Must overcome likely pace scramble.  The one to beat with excellent jockey aboard for rockriver2 stable.

Out of the 4-hole, we have cjt3’s Silly Mid Off(AUS) at 10/1.  Flying Spur(AUS) daughter scored black type in 4th career start, but then promptly finished up the track when tested at graded level.  threat for board or at least minor share of purse, but must throw higher SP#.    Needs to try two-turns soon.

The bookies give actual racetime favoitism to recent MSW winner Cheyenne Gold (8/5).  She’s a royal bred by Seeking The Gold of course and purely dominated her 6f debut wire to wire with plenty of room to spare.   The 82 SP# matches the other close faves — one to keep an eye on.  We’ll see if she can handle being pressed on or near lead.

At 11/1, Trickrtreat flopped in her dirt debut LTO, finishing last of 8.   The Phone Trick daughter was a winner over the lawn previously.  Flip a coin whther or not she’ll rebound.  Races for triplcrown stable.

The Golden Missile filly Ming Universe (6/1) breaks from post 7.   Spunky gal followed up 2nd-try MSW score with a nice NW2L romp over 7f.  Improving and ready to break 80 SP# barrier.  Not without a chance for the board.  Good jockey for havana stable.  Stalker.

Finally, tmjstable’s Honest Cat (11/1) keeps knocking on the black type door.  Cat Thief daughter pockets purses wherever and whenever she can.  It’s the filly’s 10th career call to the post — the faves have better numbers than her though.  Outsider.

Snowchief’s Picks:

I’ll go with the improving closer Above The World over flashy-but-green pacesetter/presser Wild’s Child (who should outgame Deseeker for lead).  Ming Universe up for a mild stalker rally.

Win:    Above The World
Place:  Wild’s Child
Show:  Ming Universe

Good luck to all.
