Alex Agriculture Looks Like a Real Toss-Up
After all the excitement of the BB, we’re back to more mundane stakes now. But even though
Josheba Coroner 5/1 Very promising debut, winning easily in a smallish field with an 83 fig. Son of Alysheba should be perfectly happy to stretch out here, so watch for him to build off of that impressive first start.
Storm Slewed West Manni153 7/2 Competitive at a 7.5-furlong stakes last time out, consistent runner has never been off the board in six starts. Has a terrific jockey, but when he’s finished second in 4 of 6 races, I’d expect more of the same. Should run well, but not brilliantly.
Remember Tampero Triska 7/2 Unbridled’s Song colt is 2-for-2, including a striking 88 fig at a mile last time out. Come-from-behind runner looks like a potentially very serious horse. With the awesome V Drosos in the irons, we may be looking at a champ in the making.
Mephisto Diablo Nathndtroi 4/1 Broke his maiden in his third attempt when he finally stretched out to a mile. But was it the distance or messy track he liked in that race? Won that won by 3 lengths, so may have more in reserve, but would need it to take on the tough horses here. Potential to be competitive, but lousy jockey doesn’t help his case.
Amazing Discovery Isittrue 6/1 The lone filly in the race, she perked up when trying the dirt for the first time in her last race. Making her first route attempt here, but should be perfectly happy to do so. A very legitimate contender.
Wirtestendiebesten Jh 5/1 German for “This-Is-My-First-Race-So-Your-Guess-Is-As-Good-As-Mine.”
Azroc Oily Slick Corzacan 9/2 A win, a second, and a third in three starts. Broke maiden very easily when stretched out to a mile last out. Looks like a terrific runner who has an excellent shot here.
All in all, it’s an extremely strong and well-matched field of juveniles. There’s only a smidge of difference between them so far and any one of them has the potential to take this race. Should be a lot of fun to watch!
