Titanium Palace Special
(SP)Wyoming-The Pro Farm Memorial is in the books and it was a case of experience having an easy time. Fasliyev Quest(IRE) controlled the race dictating how things should go and pulled off an two length win. He gave a lesson to the youngsters how to manage a race to your advantage and then what to do with it. It was obvious that Myvan had gained confidence with his last outing and used it to perform well here. He broke in the middle of the pack and then proceeded to work his way to a place finish, also two lengths ahead of his next competitor. Rounding out the top three was Wealth By Stealth(IRE). With him crossing the finish line third it completed a sweep by confirmed closers and that hasn’t happened for a while.
Our next featured race is the $55,000 Titanium Palace Special. It is a seven and a half furlongs sprint for freshman fillies on the turf. Unfortunately, there was no publicity or advance billing for this race. Again it makes the WRC look like a group of incompetent managers at best and complete inept fools at the worst. The WRC stated they had sent all advance billing and advertisement out last week but there was a mix up with the delivery company. This delivery company thought these were to be for next week. As a result, only three freshman fillies entered. That means one of the track journey horses will be entered. Here are the four ladies for this weekends race.
Doctor Cryan entered by thepoet. This filly by Stravinsky comes into the race looking for her first win. She returns to the turf after a couple races pounding the dirt, even though she was looking like she may prefer that. This will be the first time out of the maiden ranks and she may be very nervous because of the high excitement (well maybe not this race) surrounded stakes racing. One good thing, she will get a taste of stakes racing with out a large crowd to have to contend with.
Open Your Mind entered by driver1000. This filly by Tail Of The Cat comes into the race as the prohibitive favorite. It seems the odds makers are basing their predictions solely on her past performances. She does have two stakes wins, been on the board for all five races and has been running quite well while doing it. The problem I see, this will be her first trip on the grass. She may or may not be able to perform on the turf as well, but this is the perfect race to give it a try.
Moon Brisson(IRE). This track entered Irish filly is sired by Moon Ballad. She has had several owners that gave up on her early and she got donated to be a journeyman. She has shown flashes of ability but the constant change of trainers has probably confused her and so she is not putting out her best. She is a sweet tempered little girl and many of the track workers have laid down token bets on her success. Jesse Sands, this years hot jockey even volunteered to take her down the track.
High Drama(IRE) entered by spglitter. This Irish filly by High Chaparral comes into the race off of two wins. She is also highly favored and being on the board six out of seven times is a good indication why. Her only time off the board was her attempt on the dirt. She has a pretty sporadic racing style right now, but it looks like she may develop into a stalker.
