The PALMS

                                                          The PALMS
                                          5th edition    grade 3    classic
welcome to the 2013 running of The Palms stakes we have a full field for sunday’s race the
early favorite is(5) DEEP MAN at 9/2 ,the winner of the Panhandle Park Derby back in january here in florida,
in florida and won the grade 1 High Flyer Stakes as a 2 year old the young colt had a rough trip last time out
in the grade 1 Vermont Is 4 Lovers but his trainers have asssured me he’s sharp and ready to take on
the 2nd choice(4) THUNDERING GOLD a grade 3 winner as a two year old winning the The Wooden Reserve,
he also ran in the High Devil Turf Juvenile in december, but in his only start this year  in the
Alyfoo Deed Turf Route where he was caught in the strecth and finished 3rd, he’ll need a big lead to hold
off this field, our 3rd choice is the (10) SWEET RIDE DUDE lightly raced but is very impressive in his drive
home,he only 5 starts but has managed two nice finishes in stakes company finishing 2nd twice in a row
both the horses that have bested him are in this field the (4) in the High Devil Turf Juvenile and our next
choice (11)DELETE THE BULB winner of 4 out of 8 starts including the Monjeux Turf Route pulling away at
wire, he also has a 12 furlong  Allowance win to his credit so going 9 furlongs will be no big deal for him.
our next choice is( 7)ANGRY PIRATE who hasn’t missed they pay sheet yet, racking up 4 wins in 6 starts
with 2 show finishes in graded company running 3rd in the G2 The Bobby Papin and finishing 3rd in the
G3 The Summertime, both those were as a 2 year old he has only one race as a 3 year old a easy
Allowance win.I think he should win here.he looks very impressive in his work outs.in the (6) we have
GIMME at 8/1 a very impressive looking colt with only two turf races under his belt, he won his maiden
his first try on turf at 9.5 furlongs winning going away in his next start his trainer had the confidence in
him to enter him in to stakes where he finished a closeing 2nd posting a very nice 100 sp running in the
Z Celebre Turf Route I look for him to close hard on the leaders could be the spoiler here, the next horse
looking to take home the top prize we the (3) BALLET CLASS another top class colt not haveing missed
the pay sheet while racking up 4 wins,he’s won his last three in a row includeing last time out the listed
stakes Alyfoo Deed Turf Route holding off his challengers in the stretch to win looks to go to the front here
and he should be the early leader but holding on will be tough here,in the (9) slot we ELLERTON COMMAND
who has won three of four starts on the turf with one of those victorys a sprint stakes the Big Zak Turf Memorial
and finishing 2nd in the Alyfoo Deed Turf Route, he should be one of the early pacesetters, but can he hang
around at the end, guess we’ll just have to wait and see.the (2) slot has a nice looking colt by the name of
RHETORICANDCONTEXT the florida bred colt has been running with tough company, he ran a closing 3rd
in the G2 The Norfellow Stakes as a 2 year old he has only raced once as a three year old ,finnishing weel
back in the Fainting Goat Nightmares Stakes ,he should finnish about middle of the pack here all though he
has look extremly well in his morning work outs, the next colt to try and go away the winner is the (1)
SALT N VINEGAR who has put together a couple of nine furlong Allowance wins topping 90sp rateing both
times he has a nice kick comeing to the wire ,if he is close he could bring home a nice pay check on
sunday.our next starter is sitting in the (8) post ,BRING IN DA FUNK plans on funking it up for the favorites
this son of EMPIRE MAKER has all the class and breeding to win it all,he strutted his stuff in winning the
Classic Dowelly Turf Mile last time, his trainer has to do it here haveing posted the best work out times leading up
to the race, well the last three starters are mine and trust me there ain’t enough luck out there to help them
get close,I just wanted to give a shot before they go to thier new farm ,Deep Rock has now moved all his
stables from the east coast to the more modern farm he has built in califonia, well I just wanted to say
good luck to all the trainers, my longshot pick is the (8) bring in da funk
