Q Tip Xp Turf Challenge
Stakes
Five furlongs
Firm Turf
$75,000
All horses, 3 years old

We have only four starters for Saturday’s 16th race. All four have a shot here with one looking to win his 4th straight race. There is no clear favorite for the winner’s share of the $75,000 purse, although this seems to be a prep race for DUNCAN STREET who has yet to face this kind of field. If he wins here he could be looking for a bigger prize down the road, but there are 3 other colts in his way. Let’s take a look at the field.

PP 1
8/5            DIVORCE AGREEMENT(KY)                       L Gunn ( 59 – 3 – 6 – 4 – 5% )
(BROKEN VOW x HENNESSY x CAPOTE)
Bred by bandinni        owner:mattclooch
Races     Wins         Places        Shows        Earnings
12              2               2                3             $90,711

This son of BROKEN VOW is off to a great start by finishing in the money 7 out of 12 starts. He won the Danzig’s Buda Turf Dash stakes 2 starts back, but came up a little short last time out. The shorter distance here should help, 2nd place is not a problem here.

PP 2
4/1              FANCY PARTY(IRE)                                  N Lawton ( 423 – 94 – 90 – 69 – 22% )
(MARJU(IRE) x LITTLE CURRENT x WHITE MUZZLE(GB))
Bred by millview16
Races     Wins         Places        Shows        Earnings
22              3               4                3            $147,550

This son of  MARJU has won 3 stakes in his short life: theWicked Style Turf Juvenile stakes, South Salvo Turf Sprint, and the Tamariki Turf Dash, However, he has been running a hectic schedule, and according to his trainer this is his last race for awhile. He will press the pace early, and should earn a show place at best.

PP 3
2/1                  THE QUIET CAT(KY)                         B Child ( 407 – 92 – 52 – 65 – 23% )
(BLUEGRASS CAT x MISWAKI x STORM BIRD)
Bred by elzid
Races     Wins         Places        Shows        Earnings
11              2               5                0            $112,614

This son of  BLUEGRASS CAT is due to win a stakes race. He has the early speed to win a stakes, but is this the race where it happens? I’m not sure it is, the shorter distance will help. If he can get out front early he could very well surprise the field.

PP 4
8/5             DUNCAN STREET(KY)                       S Israel ( 117 – 14 – 8 – 16 – 12% )
(AFLEET ALEX x GONE WEST x DANZIG)
Bred by socalman       owner:brightvalr
Races     Wins         Places        Shows        Earnings
7              4                1                 2          $63,318

This fine colt out of  AFLEET ALEX is off to an awesome start of a fine racing career with 6 out of 7 starts on the paysheet. He’s got 4 wins, the last 3 in a row, and he’s seeking his 4th straight plus his first stakes victory here. He should break near the front and pretty much win easily.

Good luck to all the trainers and their fine colts
