Looking For A DS Or DS Alternative

LOOKING FOR A DS OR DDS ALTERNATIVE

Welcome to my first article on DDS and DS Alternatives I hope to find ideas for people to try prospects on using other DDS and DS sire’s. This time I intend to introduce you to one of the sires I have found as one of the forgotten sires.

Vain :  He is by Wilkes who is also a leading sire who is by Court Martial A sire that I believe is well known for most of you that makes him a double cross to Phalaris and Hyperion a cross that many breeders loved and wanted. His records shows as:

Australian Champion Racehorse of the year 1969 to70

Leading sire in Australian between 83 and 84

Leading broodmare sire

Entered the Australian racing horse of fame in 2003

Sire of 370 winners and 44 stakes winners

Champion sprinter up to 8 furlongs

Vain became a wanted commercial broodmare sire to many studs in Australia and New Zealand with great success and he can be found in bloodlines such as for  example:

Black Caviar double x

Sir Dapper Sire stakes winner

dam sire of Adebisi stake winner

dam sire Centaine Sire and stakes winner

dam sire of Bel esprit sire and stakes winner

In the Sim

Well he seems to be hardly used as a dam-sire he has only 13 runners and a success rate of 69.2 percent winners. One of his runners, WARMAN, has earned a top speed of 113 on turf and shows he has a DI of 3.00 so we can see that he can produce.

So we bred 3 horses with Vain as dam-sire for this article as a trial:

Surprise Surprise : 3 starts 1 win race sp 69 as a DS 2yr

Here It Is: 2 starts for a speed of 77 as a DS 3yr

Temple Of Thor : 1 start 1 win speed 65 as a DDS 2 yr

All were bred with average sires that are infrequently used themselves so these results make you wonder what can happen when Vain is paired with higher graded sires.

So the the invite is out there for others to try Vain. He falls down to around 40 bps by the end of the week and makes him a bargain for those looking for alternative DDS or DS sire and will increase spending on your sire selection.
