The Morning Julep Grade III
Welcome to
1. Our first horse out of the gate today is Gone Crying. The proud owner of this girl is dafarms. Gone Crying is a five year old mare that looks to top the 112 speed figure she put up three races back and if she is up to it, win her first career graded race. So far in graded company she is 0 for 2 in hitting the board with a 5th place finish in her first attempt and a 4th place finish last time out finishing the race with a 103 speed figure. She has nine wins in 27 career races and is 18 for 29 in hitting the board in her career. Gone Crying is sitting at 4/1.
2. Stifler will be out of gate number two today. Owner magpies2 will look for this 5/1 shot to make it three in a row and five for her last seven in today’s race. This five year old mare has nearly 40 races under her saddle and has won 18 of those races. She is 28 of 38 in hitting the board and won her first stakes race last time out. In her career she has three starts in the listed stakes ranks and no graded races. She has a ton of allowance races under her belt where she has won at just about every possible condition. After tying a career high two races back with a 109 SP win in an open allowance, this girl came back to win her first stakes race with a 105 SP.
3. The Fifth Ward looks to score another win on the turf today. This six year old filly has 34 races under her belt. He has won 14 of those races, and looks to make it 15 today. Sitting at odds of 8/1, owner kfastno3 will hope that she can improve upon her career best 106 speed figure. This girl has had two previous owners before, getting claimed from lennystc, after just 12 career races, for 30k. Five races and four wins later it looked as though just another claim for kfastno3 for 150k. He pushed hard and her first race in his stable she ran a nice 103 SP in route to her first ever stakes wins. Since then she has been up and down in the allowance and listed stakes ranks and hopes that she can pick up her first graded win today.
4. Conversation Piece will be shooting out of gate four today. This five year old mare will be making her first start on the grass today. Though this is her first ever start, she will be debuting on the grass with odds of 6/1. Chloedawg hopes that this girl will have better success on the grass then she had on the dirt where she won just five of her sixteen races while finishing 2nd in seven other races. She has raced in both the listed stakes and graded ranks and has a second place finish in each type. If she can grab a lead early, look for this girl to try and old it until the end.
5. Avout starts the downhill decent of horses in today’s race. This young four year old mare out of the sam812218 stable will look for this 4/1 shot to look for her to pick up her second graded win on the grass today. She is lightly raced at just 18 races, and looks to prefer either surface on any given day. In 10 dirt attempts, she has a record of 2-2-3, while she has a turf record of 3-2-1 in eight dirt attempts. In her career she is 13 of 18 in hitting the board. Her best career speed figure of 110 came on the dirt while she has posted a 108 speed figure on the grass. She has raced in non stakes races just five times in eighteen races.
6. Beach Time will be out of gate six today. This 5/2 favorite will be running for trainer wistful3 today and is no stranger to the stakes ranks. After trying her first three races on the dirt, she made the switch to turf and won first time out on the grass with an 81 speed figure in an allowance race. Since then she has not been out of the stakes ranks and has eight wins in twenty career races and is 12 of 20 for hitting the board. She has three graded wins in her career already, including one Grade II and two Grade III’s. She will be looking for her fourth graded win today.
7. Kasavage will hope that 9/2 shot K’s NEC Plus Ultra can get the job done and finish on top of these seven ladies. This six year old mare is no stranger to the winners circle as she has won 18 of her 34 career races. She is 28 of 34 in hitting the board in those races and looks to get back on track after losing her three race win streak last time out. She has many stakes and graded attempts in her career, and has even won a graded race on both surfaces. She has two Grade II wins in her career, and will be looking to make it three in today’s race. She hopes that she can improve upon her 112 career best speed figure that was set way back in August of last year.
What a great field we have for the Morning Julep today. I love the mix of runners we have today as we have horses who have not broke the graded ranks yet, graded winners, and horses who have not even tried the grass yet. I look for it to be a good race, but I think the veteran graded runner and 5/2 favorite Beach Time will take this one in the end. I want to thank you for reading this pre race article and hope you join me again at some point in your Sim racing careers. Remember for all of your Sim racing articles head on over to the BTB Forum under Forums on the main page. I’m Dylan and from all of us at the BTB thanks again for reading and let the racing begin!
