Older horses are set to test the Virginia turf this week, on the cards highlight race, the Drop The Bomb Turf Route. The race will run over eight and a half furlongs of turf, and carries a $30000 purse. Virginia enjoyed beautiful late spring weather this week and the turf will be rated as firm for the event. The race draws a tight, well matched field of nine and even the oddsmakers are having trouble choosing between them. The odds are sandwiched between a pair of 4/1 favorites and a pair of 8/1 “longshots”. There’s money to be made on this one, but it’s going to be a tough pick for that winning ticket.
