Tattersalls Gold
One of several group races on the card this weekend in Ireland is the Tattersalls Gold (G1) at a mile and five-sixteenths on the turf. The Group I race is offering up a total purse of $750,000 and is set to go off with a post time of 3:00 PM EST. The race is open to four-year-olds and up and has attracted a total of eight horses to the starting gate for this year’s running over the firm turf.

Drawing the inside rail, the Argentinean-bred light grey gelding has made twenty-five career starts and will be looking for his first stakes win in the race this weekend, group stakes or otherwise. Sired by Capensis, the gelding most recently started in late April in South Africa during a listed stakes race over seven and a half furlongs. Leaving the gates and settling into ninth, he put in a late effort to cross the wire eighth while setting a speed figure of one hundred two. His most recent win came in November of last year during an allowance race over nine and a half furlongs in the United States. Stalking the pace from second, he took over the lead in the stretch to win the race by one and a quarter lengths. The last group stakes attempt for the gelding was also in April during the April Showers Cap (G3) at a mile in New Zealand in which he would cross the wire in sixth. He will be going off as the morning line longshot.
2. Boneborough (IRE) – ksparrow8 – V. Kendall – 8/1
In the second gate, the four-year-old bay gelding has made seventeen career starts and has just over two hundred thousand dollars in career earnings. Group placed, he is seeking out his first victory against Group company this Saturday. Sired by Exceed And Excell, the colt’s most recent start was in listed stakes company over eleven furlongs in New Zealand in early April. Stalking the pace from third, she would fade to fourth in the final furlongs while setting a speed figure of one hundred ten. His most recent win came in his prior start which was against allowance company at ten furlongs. Stalking this time from second, he took the lead in the stretch to win by three lengths. His most recent group start came in May of last year during The Moussac (G3) at a mile where he would finish sixth.
3. Think Me Away (AUS) – liam13 – H. Harzheim – 3/1
This five-year-old brown horse by So You Think is a local champion in his native Australia and winner of over one million in career earnings. He will be seeking out his first Group I win with this weekend’s start. His most recent start came in late March during the Sydney Cup (G1) in Victoria over a mile and a quarter. Well off the pace in fourteenth out of the gate, the horse started to steadily make a move midway through the race and would cross the wire in third while setting a speed figure of one hundred fourteen. His most recent win came in January of this year in the United States during the Buck Dharma Handicap (G2) at a mile and three-eighths. Breaking eleventh, he again started to advance on the other contenders at the halfway point before going on to win by two and three-quarter lengths.
4. Keep Disc (TX) – cancun6 – J. Ventura – 6/1
Bred in Texas and sired by Keep Up, the one-time claimer has worked his way up to becoming a Group I winner. Out of the allowance-winning dam Flying Disc, the bay gelding has made twenty career starts. He made his most recent start in late March in Australia during the Sydney Cup (G1) at a mile and a quarter. Sitting off the pace in fourth early, the bay gelding started to advance midway through the race and would end up crossing the wire in second while setting a speed figure of one hundred fourteen. His most recent win was in November of 2024 over the dirt in Norway during a listed stakes race over the same distance that had been moved off the turf. Stalking from third, he took control of the pace at the halfway point to win the race by an impressive ten lengths.
5. Excelente (IRE) – italst2 – P. Harzheim – 7/1
Lightly raced with just ten career starts the four-year-old chestnut colt is out of the Group I million-dollar earning dam Magnifly and is sired by Lope De Vega. He is coming into the race this weekend off of two consecutive wins. The most recent of these came during a listed stakes race in early April in New Zealand over eleven furlongs. Stalking the pace from second, he took over the lead midway through the race and coasted home to win by two and a quarter lengths while setting a speed figure of one hundred fourteen. Prior to this the colt also won an allowance race in Australia over nine and a half furlongs. He will be taking a big step up in class with this race, making his group stakes debut here in the Tattersalls Gold (G1).
6. Frankhill (ENG) – falvelon – T. Snider – 5/2
With career earnings over two million dollars, the five-year-old gelding who is sired by turf sensation Frankel (GB) most recently started in the UAE in late March during the Sand Castle Golden Turf Classic (G1). Off the pace in tenth at the start, the bay gelding would start to pick up the pace midway through the race but would only manage to cross the wire in seventh while setting a speed figure of one hundred twelve. His most recent win was in September of last year during the Classic Turf Stakes (G1) at a mile and a half in the United States. Closer to the pace in sixth at the break, he would again accelerate midway and go on to win by an impressive eight and three-quarter lengths.
7. Path Of Time (GB) – asrfrankel – V. Drosos – 9/2
Sired by Frankel (GB), the five-year-old horse has earned over five-million in career earnings over the course of twenty career starts. The most recent start for the horse came early last month in Australia during The 5-Series (G1) over a mile and a half. Held back off the pace early in tenth, the bay horse would begin gaining ground midway through the race but he would still come up short with an eighth place finish while setting a speed figure of one hundred nine. His most recent win was in February of 2023 during the New Zealand Darby (G1) at the same distance. Placed in fifth out of the gate, he started to advance midway through the race and would win the contest by two lengths.
8. Living Without You (ENG) – coolemorebarg – E. C. Doyle – 8/1
Returning to Group company after a step down in class, this five-year-old bay gelding by Palace Pier has made twenty career starts. His most recent start came in early April during a listed stakes race in Australia over ten furlongs. Well off the pace at the break, the gelding never seemed to find his stride in the race and would cross the wire in twelfth while setting a speed figure of ninety-eight. His most recent win was in November of last year during an allowance race in Germany over twelve furlongs. Rated in eighth out of the gate he would start to move forward through the field halfway through the race before going on to win by two and a half lengths.
