With the Testbarn Residency’s “LIKEN IT LOCAL” II Phase-2, happenning this weekend in California, it is time to review, before moving forward. While, each race can earn you a birth in the coresponding L.I.L. Breeders Bowl Race, with a Top-5 finish. There is much more at stake than your average race! Besides Bragging rights, a birth in the finals, bp’s, and Stakes Points.There are Prize Horses’ for each winner + credits for each resident winner. The Finals Qualifiers from Phase-1 are:

Well, there it is! Four outstanding races, with SP’s ranging from 87(filly turf) to 101(open turf). The races, also proved to be fairly chalky, with winning odds from 3-1 to 13-1. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL QUALIFYING OWNERS!! CHAMPIONSHIP INVITATIONS WILL GO OUT IN OCTOBER. WE HOPE TO SEEYOU ALL THERE!
Now we can move on to the Phase-2 Preview. With the race distances expanding from 7 furlongs in Phase-1 to 8.5 furlongs in Phase-2, the outcomes will more than likely be very different. Will trainers bother to run back with the same horses? Or try to qualify a different horse? Taking into consideration that there will be 4 more opportunities to qualify a 3YO and four chances to qualify a 2YO. * To be totaly honest, this was the worst turn out of the 5 PHASES to date, in both terms of entry number and quality of runners. The lack of “Sim” interest could mean a restructuring of the series or even cancellation. That will need to be addressed at seasons end.
