Everybody let’s go to Ascot
Hello all and welcome to Ascot for what should be a big day of racing. A huge crowd has flocked to the track to witness 3 GRP1 & 4 GRP2 races and not to forget the other 9 great races. The day looks to be fine and no chance of rain means the big crowd will be in a good mood to spend big. Today I will cover the 14th race of the day THE WINTER FOREST a group 2 race in it’s third year and this year it has the smallest field but all runners are at short odds. Today will make or break some horses and good luck to all.

PP#2 B DeGrella 14.2% win strike rate this year and had 2 wins last week. Today’s ride is one of his best rides for the day and did ride this horse last start out.
PP#3 R Williams 18.4% win strike rate this year and did finish third in this race last year. Had 5 winners last week with 2 back to back wins and this is his best ride for the day.

Four year old TIZNOW mare who is ranked 20th best for the 2009 TIZNOW offsprings. Yet to be unplaced but this will be a big step up in class and is having her first start at the track. Has had three starts at stakes company for three thirds but in each of those races she was never closer than 4 lenghts from the winner. She is the second favourite of the race and the bookies have kept safe with her. I know she’s a good horse but not at this class so bet on her at your own risk.

Four year old STREET CRY (IRE) mare who is ranked 20th best for 2009 STREET CRY (IRE) offsprings. She is also stepping up in class but has had the three starts at stakes class for all fourths. Two starts at the track for a second and a fourth and has had her last start at this track. She is the long shot of the race but if the jockey has learnt anything from his last start on her he will get her going earlier. I have no doubt she will try her best but might find this a touch too hard.

Four year old PROUD CITIZEN mare who is ranked 2nd best for the 2009 PROUD CITIZEN offsprings. No doubt she has great form but she has only had the one start at group class, and that was lasy year in G1-The Irish 1000 Guineas where she finished well back to finish second last. Does really well at the distance in allowance company, but this ain’t allowance today. She is the third favourite here today and who knows what she might just be able to produce. Have to be an each-way chance.

Five year old STORM CAT mare who is ranked 5th best for 2008 STORM CAT offsprings. Will have no problems running the distance or class as she has had plenty of graded starts. The favourite here today and with a win here today it would see her become a millionare. She is the class runner of the field and the bookies are also keeping her safe. Have to say she will be hard to beat.

Six year old KING’S BEST(IRE) mare who is ranked 1st best for 2007 KING’S BEST(IRE) offsprings. She is the oldest and most experienced runner in the field and that could be viewed as a positive or negative. Has hit some form lately but that was at allowance class and I think the odds she’s recieved today are fair. This looks beyond her but not without a place chance.
So there we have it the field is set the trainers have done all they can to prepare their champs and now it’s up to the jockeys and horses to write the rest of the story.
