Wide open race kicks off Indonesia’s card
(1) PERSONAL SPIN (SAf) [2/1]
4 y/o filly by Personal Hope x Storm Boot x Spinning World
(17) 2 – 1 – 2 ($63 550)
Her recent form has been erratic. She has mixed in speed figures in the 60’s and 70’s, with her usual 80’s and a 90. The will be her first start in local bred company, and only her third for her current stable. While she hasn’t gone close to winning for quite some time, the 80 she scored at the end of her juvenile season, and the 90 a year later, indicate that she does have some talent.
(2) CLASSY LEADER (SAf) [4/1]
4 y/o filly by Parade Leader x With Approval x Silver Deputy
(16) 2 – 3 – 4 ($29 528)
The SAF Connection (14.2%-42.2%), L. Slater (21.5%-53%)
This filly has been holding her form quite well of late, mostly in similar company to this race. Her last start was useful, a second place in a short open allowance field. The trip suits and she has a top jockey aboard.
(3) GOLDEN MOGOK (SAf) [3/1]
4 y/o filly by Mogok x Golden Thatch (Ire) x Herbager
(14) 1 – 2 – 4 ($26 073)
The SAF Connection (14.2%-42.2%),
Golden Mogok has placed in her last four starts in local bred company, and her speed figures have been improving. The question mark for her will be seeing out the distance. Her only previous route effort was a nine length fourth place more than a year ago.
(4) NYSAEAN EVEN (SAf) [2/1]
6 y/o mare by Nysaean (Ire) x Stephen Got Even x Woodman
(23) 2 – 1 – 5 ($37 548)
This mare moves into local bred company for the first time here. She recently broke a long run of terrible form with a good third after setting the pace, her previous decent effort being a stakes third place finish in December 2008! The drop in class could do her the world of good.
(5)
4 y/o filly by Al Mufti x Horse Chestnut (SAf) x Seeking The Gold
(15) 1 – 3 – 4 ($43 233)
The SAF Connection (14.2%-42.2%), N. Nation (15.3%-47%)
Being a daughter of the Gr1 winning mare Cache (SAf), this filly has been disappointing. I haven’t had much luck figuring out her best trip, so it’s difficult to guess just how she will fare. Her recent speed figures have been good enough for her to be competitive in this field.
Summary:
This race is wide open and I’d advise punters to steer clear. If I had to have a bet, I might go for the 4/1 on Classy Leader as being the best value option.
