Bargain Bowl – Class Ack Juvenile
Eastern Kentucky
Gold4ever:
Gold4ever sends out a couple of colts who are both winners in open compeny. The Dr Fong colt Sharp Quill(FR) – 8/1 siezed his mainden hop-scotchety right off the bat around three-quarters, then finished 3rd to the filly Misallocation in the Sandford Park BBRS Series allowance. He’s been idle in the 10 weeks since. CLosing late in his last, he’s an interesting outsider.
Gold4ever also has Amberleigh Image(CA) 10/1, making his turf debut. The Flame Thrower colt hit the board in a pair of BBRS dirt MSWs, flashing some macho speed. the colt then put it all together winning a California-bred MSW wire-to-wire. That was over a mile on dirt though. We’ll see what happens over the green stuff Saturday.
Rollsally:
Desert Dayjour(CA) is the first one up of our 2yo fillies. The granddaughter of Dayjur broke her maiden versus open company damsels LTO with a fine 78 SP# for the 7f. She’s a live sleeper in great form at 5/1. You gotta like an improving youngster and if she can pass the distance test, then she’s a live sort at decent payoff odds.
Hawkz:
Hawkz enters a pair of interesting colts. The first finished runnerup to filly Misallocation in the BBRS Sandford. Catch The Beel(NZ) 5/1, by Savabeel, had previously prepped winning a couple of BBRS races in fine pacesetter fashion. He’s a sassy colt with the look of a bargain baby star. I think he’ll handle a fine mile here. Keep him in your trifecta.
Hawkz also sends out Brave Haarth(AUS) 9/1 who is an eye-catching open company winner by Brave Hawk(AUS). Brave Haarth finished 5th in the Cornwall-G3 LTO. Granted, there were only 5 horses in the field but he earned his spot with MSW and ALW scores versus open peers. His top speed so far is 73 and he makes his two-turns debut. He’s another one who can sneak up on you if he can handle the mile.
Desperado:
Misallocation(FR) is the sweetheart of both the boys and girls BBRS division. At 7/2, Misallocation steps in here after winner both the Sandford Park and Winchester BBRS allowances. Gosh, she’s done just about everything asked of her from Rob’s BBRS stables. Her speed figs keep improving too, she’s walloped colts, and she’s passed the mile test. What’s not to like? Gonna be super tough to beat.
Dragnil:
Dragnil’s sends out an entry and the first of which is a filly, Sweet Sanette(SAF) 12/1. Dragnil’s stables all support the BBRS and Sweet Santette has started in 4 of 6 in BBRS contests. The Jallad daughter broke her maiden first off the bat way earlier this year and has since picked up a number of cheques. She was a distant 4th LTO over a mile. In the hunt for a minor share at best.
The maiden colt Kahal’s A Bargain(SAF) 14/1 ran a 73 SP# against open compeny MSWs LTO. The Kahal colt finished up the track, but might fit in with this bunch as a live sleeper here. Bred to go long on the grass, so let’s see if it’s a fit.
Mtk76: A grandson of Artax, Speed Code(CA) 10/1 from Mtk’s BBRS stable led gate-to-post in the Cot Turf ALW LTO. He was an open company MSW winnner LTO and brings classy experience to the table. Should be out front if he can early on. His speed figures in the 60’s aren’t much to shout about, but he can find the winner’s circle. Don’t be fooled by his odds.
Lgbost:
Desert Air(GER) 13/1 won the Filly Turf Allowance after breaking her maiden versus open company at Czech Republic two starts back. Her speed figures weren’t nothing to sneeze at, yet the daughter of Aerion(GER) has shown versatility on and off the pace. Not without a chance for all the marbles and bred to go long too.
Planoaxius:
I’m The Money(GA) 22/1, a filly by Chairman, broke her maiden FTO for Plano’s BBRS stable. She then finished a distant fifth in the Filly Dirt Allowance at long odds. She’s up against it here in her turf debut. We’ll see what happens.
Blznprize:
The aptly-named Saving BPS(OK) 21/1 is a grandson of Arazi. The colt bagged his maiden in his MCL turf debut two starts back. He then made a launch from midpack to finish runner-up to Speed Code in the BBRS’ Colt Turf Allowance. I like how he closed well in his last. He’s a live one to light up the board.
Lifeline:
Lifeline’s BBRS-supporting stables enters CTR’s Sun Ray(CAN), a maiden colt by Gun Power. The 47/1 longshot struggled home 7th of 8 in his lifetime debut. He’s a nasty li’l bugger though who means to pick a fight. Flip a coin ten times and say, “Woogedy Boogedy!”@
Snowchief’s Picks:
Win: Misallocation in a romp
Place: Brave Haarth in the hunt, but best at longer
Show: Saving BPS because he’s gritty
Good luck!
