A BRIDGE TO FAR?

While the LIKEN IT LOCAL STAKES SERIES, is the biggest event The Testbarn Residency, has taken on to date. It Is by no means an original idea! But, rather one torn from the MB forum. The “Series” is the Grand Finally of an action packed first year, that included our first Residency Challenge, a merger with The “New” Red River Residency, and a continuous string of contests & Prize giveaways.

The Series itself, will act as a bridge for the Residency, from Season I to Season II. With the first 4 races this year, being for 2yr. olds and the second 4 races in February for 3yr. olds. It is this second group of races, at the very beginning of the 3yr,old campaign. That will separate the Local Bred contenders from the pretenders and could launch the Gifted, into the Derby picture!

During this lull in the action between Series races, the Residency will embark into Season II and a full schedual of races and contests!!

The Highlights of Season II include: A year-long Training Contest, 2 Breeding Contests, 8 more Local Bred Stakes Races, a wagering contest, Claiming contest, a weekly PICK- 4, and much, much more! With prizes, like a leather bound copy of The 1828 Racing Calendar, a 2010 Breeders Cup Baseball Cap, Pictures,Autographs and more!

Without much time for reflection or backslapping, the traveling side-show moves on and although we are still also rans, in the Residency Rankings. We are maintaining a top 25 presence and recently cracked the 2000 bp/wk level. Which will enable us to expand our event production capabillities and to compete with the larger residencies.

On the surface, we may look like everyone else. But the truth is, we are the French Vanilla of the 31 flavors. What makes us different? Most important to the average player is that we are a resident drivin, Residency. All decisions are put to vote! with each entity getting one vote regardless of stable number. A true democracy, without egos! The second thing that makes us different, is that contest prizes are Horse Racing Memorabilla(something you can hold in your hand), not the virtual prizes, like everyone else gives away.

Going from Can’t Do(won’t work) to Has Done(is working). Does bring a certain amount of satisfaction! But more importantly is the fact that the first few residents who took a chance on me, are now rewarded with stability. For more information about our residency or questions about joining?
