QE2 Challenge

QE2 Challenge Grade I Recap

Just a quick recap of the QE2 run over 9f on the turf.

As predicted Cold Storage won comfortably, leading wire to wire and winning easing up. A good turf speed figure of 105 too so her trainer Springtime has plenty to be happy about. There’s more to come from this one. Basically most of the runners ran as predicted, with two notable exceptions. Mongoose Jedi, Buck Wild and King Snake all want further (although i did say Buck Wild was outclassed- wrong she is clearly a graded runner). Iron Shoes closed to late but got third. She will improve again and look for her next time out.

Now here’s the exceptions- Abigail ran a stinker first time out at this level. Dropped back into stakes for a few runs will benfit her. Dew Bomb ran well above my expectations. She clearly needed her first grade I run in her previous race and is still improving. Can go on from here and again should be followed nexr time out.
