Stakes record – 2010 – K’S BROKEN DREAM, 1:21, SPF 114.656

SKIDBURG was locked in battle for first throughout the initial half of the race and it probably cost him as K’S BROKEN DREAM came roaring up from behind to stick his nose in front on the last possible step of the race to win the inaugural running of The Everclear Handicap here in California this weekend.

With that final winning step, K’S BROKEN DREAM swept red hot jockey Lewis like a nightmare past the other horses that enabled him to gain his 11th victory in only 20 tries. He has now won three Gradeds in a row and an additional third in a Grade 3 four back. He now has over half a million in earnings for trainer and owner Wrecks and looks like he is going to be a horse to be reckoned with this coming season. He ran his fastest race with a sizzling 114 SPF and has quite a streak of Graded wins going. He improved his rank to number nine in the older dirt sprint class.

I had predicted that K’S BROKEN DREAM would win the race but only by narrowly beating out a terrific race run by SKIDBURG . SLAMMED CONNECTION took the third spot but was more than four lengths back of the frontrunners. Blue Letter finished ahead of co-favorite CARING MISS for fourth but they were both well down the track.

Also Rans: BLUE LETTER(LA), CARING MISS(KY), BETSY(AUS), DAVIDOFF(KY), FRIDAY’S AT TEN(KY), PLURAL(KY), LADY OF LEISURE(AUS)

It certainly looks like K’S BROKEN DREAM is ready for a special kind of year and perhaps this time next year we will be voting for this colt in the Eclipse Award balloting. I am looking forward to watching this guy throughout the year.

Good luck to all runners!
