Let’s look at the entries …
Race Analysis by Hladun
PP 1: 164565 NO CAUSE FOR ALARM(ENG) ocab A. Edwards (12/1) RANK: 82
This son of Sakhee comes into this race having won three of his four lifetime starts to date. He comes in off of a freshening period following a poor performance in The Graphic With Jumbo Memorial where he was a well beaten seventh. Ocab is hoping to get untracked here.
PP 2: 151144 AGBONLAHORS VILLAN(ENG) avfc R. Harzheim (6/1) RANK: 13
This Sakhee colt has won five of eight starts, missing the board only once in his brief career and that coming in the Grade III Phenom Stakes in his last start as a two year old. In that nine furlong race, he led from the gate and attempted to wire the field only to tire badly in the stretch. With one eighth of a mile less to navigate here he has the class to dominate this field. A threat to wire this field he boasts four Listed Stakes victories on his racing resume.
PP 3: 168095 ENTREATABLE(NZ) scootstc A. Breadfan (9/1) RANK: 489
This son of little known sire Danske(NZ) by super sire Danehill may have a gem in this offspring. Although shy in experience, he comes in off of a monster performance in a Deauville Allowance race in which he covered the eight furlong distance in a smart 1:35:4 earning a 97 in the process. Has been handled masterfully by scootstc to date and this last outing puts him in the mix and must be respected … watch out!
PP 4: 167992 SOLLER(AUS) cadiz D. Aniel (4/1) RANK: 484
This homebred son of Grey Swallow comes into this race in fine fettle almost wiring the field in The Making The Cat Memorial Stakes just missing by a long head. Covering the mile in 1:36:3 and earning a 93, he’s worthy of our attention as this lastest effort has put him on the radar as one to watch closely.
PP 5: 133105 T FILO DOUGH(IRE) lglong2 T. Nugent (8/1) RANK: 479
This son of Teofilo has rediscovered his form of late after being put back on the lawn following the Grade II Camel Juvenile in Dubai where he failed to menace. His last two have provided him with some momentum after a win in Allowance company followed by a tough loss in finishing second as he didn’t appreciate the additonal half furlong. The cutback to a mile here will be welcomed. Will need to improve some to stay close in this spot.
PP 6: 87500 SUNSTREAM(ENG) runpastem9 A. Powers (9/1) RANK: 299
This starpping son of Echo of Light(GB) comes into this race having won his last two at the Allowance level. He does have Stakes experience having finished third as a two year old in the Grade II Manofjunk over eight and a half furlongs of “yielding” turf. He’ll have firm conditions today and is on a roll of late … a contender.
PP 7: 165073 ALL HOPE(AUS) stickup J. Plumber (9/1) RANK: N/A
This son of Flying Spur(AUS) took a big leap in his latest having made a big splash on the local scene in winning an Allowance affair here just two weeks ago. This track proved much to his liking as his speed figure jumped twenty points to eighty eight. This horse is on the improve and is one to fear on any further improvement. Another taking the acid test.
PP 8: 79872 PLAINSONG(AUS) tylorpride W. Cox (17/1) RANK: 84
Having competed in two Grade I events previously, this son of Bradbury’s Luck comes into this race with much to prove to his connections. Is he truly a stakes calibre horse? Only time will tell. He’ll have to improve immensely to compete with the likes of these many of whom are on a roll. Momentum is not on his side.
PP 9: 287754 RIVER OF FUN(AUS) holyghost R. Whisper (5/2) RANK: 133
The morning line favourite is the son of little known sire Snitzel who may be making some noise here in this spot. The most seasoned of the entrants today, he comes out of the Grade III Roasting Weenies Stakes here at Surrey on January 10th where he held the lead until late giving it up in the final strides to lose by a quarter length. Posting a 100 speed figure, a repeat of that performance will make him difficult to take down. The horse to beat!
