G2 The Future Preview
#1 Blood Pact (The Mecca) 9/2 : By Dubawi (IRE), an elite sire with 54 winners from 168 runners this year, including 2 stakes winners. This colt is 2-for-2 in allowance company and showed a strong closing kick last time, reeling in a leader who was 5 lengths clear turning for home. This will be his first try in stakes company, can he keep the streak alive against tougher?
#2 Sea The Bear (Orphan Racing) 9/1 : By Paddington, who has produced 10 winners from 56 runners this year. Has only one start under his belt, but it was an impressive one, breaking his maiden by 3 ¾ lengths going 7.5 furlongs. Cuts back slightly to 7 furlongs today and brings a strong debut speed figure with him. Can he make the leap straight into graded company?
#3 GGGGGGGG G Unit (GR Simsters) 10/1 : By Golden Pal, who has produced 36 winners from 81 runners this year, including one dirt stakes winner. Comes in off a strong NW2L win at today’s distance, where he posted a 90+ speed figure. Yet to face graded company, so this will be the real test, but he’s taken a step forward with each start. Still improving, or has he hit his ceiling?
#4 Legacy Of The Dog (GR Simsters) 5/1 : By Wootton Bassett (GB), an elite sire who’s produced 91 winners from 217 runners this year, including 8 stakes winners. Broke his maiden with ease on debut, but took a clear step back in his second start with a 5th-place finish and a dip in speed figures. Rebounded with a second in the Hushwing Lion Turf Juvenile last out, but the form’s been a bit up and down. Is the talent there, or are we chasing that debut?
#5 Fabian Society (No Residency) 7/1 : By Showcasing (GB), who has 20 winners from 74 runners this year, including a G2 winner in Hostetler. This colt is 2-for-2 to start his career, and both wins have come with a closing rush. In his latest against NW2L company, he cruised from 5th turning for home and pulled away by 3 lengths. Takes the jump to graded stakes today, can the late kick hold up against tougher company?
#6 Rock The Show (Orphan Racing) 9/1 : By Showcasing (GB), who has 20 winners from 74 runners this year, including a G2 winner in Hostetler. Started his career in Twitch races, picking up a win in one of those first two starts. Since then, he’s posted a win and a second in allowance company, with a steady climb in speed figures. Still sitting a touch below the top tier in here, can he take the next step against graded company?
#7 Aussie Moula (Down Under Racing) 11/1 : By Wootton Bassett (GB), an elite sire who’s produced 91 winners from 217 runners this year, including 8 stakes winners. This colt’s form has tailed off, with declining speed figures in each of his last three starts, a concern against rivals trending the other way. Comes in off a 9th in the G3 Railaway, where Blitz N Confused finished second. He’ll need to turn the tables there and reverse his form to contend. Can he bounce back at the right time?
#8 Euro Games (Down Under Racing) 12/1 : By Modern Games, who has produced 15 winners from 61 runners this year. Broke his maiden in his second start, but hasn’t been able to hit the board in two listed stakes attempts since. His best showing was a 4th in the Redoutes Son Turf Juvenile two back. Stepping up to graded company off those efforts doesn’t inspire a ton of confidence. Can he prove he belongs with a big leap forward?
#9 Golden Cover (Empire State Racing) 6/1 : By Golden Pal, who has produced 36 winners from 81 runners this year, including one dirt stakes winner. Comes in off a sharp allowance win at today’s distance, posting a 90+ speed figure and drawing off by 3 ½ lengths. Two back, he was second in the C You At The Wire Turf Juvenile, so he’s got some stakes experience too. With speed and stamina already showing up, is he ready to land his first graded score?
#10 Blitz N Confused (Down Under Racing) 10/1 : By Dylan Thomas, who’s produced 8 winners from 42 runners this year, including 2 turf stakes winners. This colt started with a sharp 5-furlong debut in January and made it clear he wanted more ground. Got it second time out at 6.5 furlongs and dominated the maiden group by 5 ½ lengths. Came up just short last time in the G3 Railaway, finishing second by ¾. Should love stretching out to 7 furlongs today. Is he sitting on a breakthrough?
#11 Zunkz (British and European Racing Club) 7/1 : By Kizuna, who’s produced 15 winners from 56 runners this year. More of a route sire, so the added ground today could help him finish even stronger. This colt likes to come from off the pace and hasn’t finished worse than second in four starts this season. Comes in off a narrow runner-up finish in the Devil’s Sky Turf Juvenile, losing by just a head. The stretch to 7 furlongs should play right into his style. Will the late kick land him on top this time?
