Ahhh – Jumpmoose.  One of my most favorite people that I have never met.  Of course it is the name and I wish I had thought to ask him the story behind the name because I am sure that there is one. It certainly has fed my imagination for several years.  Jumpmoose has been with the Sim for a long time but only runs a few stables and is not a member of any residency although any residency would be lucky to have him.  He does post to the messageboards now and then and although he seems to prefer being low key – I am glad he decided to participate in my Snapshot series.  Here is Doug’s snapshot.

Favorite food?

Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding.

 

Dog or cat?

Dog — in fact, on balance, I like dogs better than I like people!

 

If you were to take a solo road trip which would you rather drive – a convertible or a motorhome?

Motorhome.

 

Hobby – other than horseracing?

Sportsbetting — the Betfair exchange almost is enough to make me a religious man.

 

Favorite band or singer?

The Band.

 

Last book you read?

David Hume’s, A Treatise of Human Nature. I always seem to have 3 or 4 books on the go.

 

What’s playing in your cd player or Ipod right now?

Neil Young is in the CD player. I haven’t made my way up to Ipod yet!

 

If you were stuck in a hospital room for 6 months and could chose one person, past or present, other than husband/wife, relative or in-law, to be in the bed next to you – who would it be?

Six months is such a long time, hmm. I guess I would choose someone like Marco Polo, who could entertain me with endless stories about exotic places — as long as he came with a translator. It would be unnerving to have someone yabbering away in Italian for 6 months . . .

 

Favorite real life racehorse?

A.P. Indy. Won the Belmont with Eddie D. aboard on the day my daughter was born in 1992.

 

If you could meet one person in the Sim – who would it be?

The elusive Labreche.
