Blazing Saddles Juvy Dirt
One of the most exciting new residencies in the sim, the chat room dominating Blazing Saddles, is proud to host their first resident championship day of racing. The Blazing Saddles Juvenile Dirt Showdown goes as the 9th Race on the
Leaving from post one, Tamil Tiger(FR) has an impressive 3/3 record on the main track including a sizzling allowance score in his last start, albeit at seven furlongs. The son of European Champion Hold That Tiger is trained by timjbehr2 for the Goosetown Stables. His undefeated record on the dirt is encouraging, but he will be tested by the distance, as this will be the first attempt for the brown colt going two turns. Out of a fast, seven time winning dam, Tamil Tiger has the pedigree and form to be a major threat in here.
Hailing from the second best trainer from
Trained by Texas Tech alum Bigjet’s jetforhome stable, Gold Cat Zap has a pedigree to die for. The son of Ghostzapper out of a Storm Cat dam has ran twice in MSWs at 7f. He steps up to stakes competition at the mile and an eighth distance today. He had a solid debut with a 77 speed figure but regressed in his second start. Bigjet has to hope that Gold Cat Zap needs the extra distance, but he has the pedigree to outshine any in the field. Gold Cat Zap is listed at 6/1 in the morning line odds.
One of the fastest horses in the race is acote’s Midtown Riot, a horse who has never missed the board and looms the biggest threat in the race. The son of superstar Street Cry was impressive in his first route try, finishing a strong closing 3rd to post an 86 speed figure. Midtown Riot has also blasted his way to an 87 speed figure while winning his N1X allowance. He hails from a top barn in the Pilgram stable conglomerate and is by one of the best sires in the world, and deserves a lot of backing at the windows. He is listed as the early second choice at 5/1.
A son of dual classic winning Point Given, Chin Music, will break from pos five for classic winning trainer Galileo. Another with a top of the line pedigree, Chin Music should adore the 8.5f distance. Hailing from Galileo’s charmer stable, Chin Music ran into a tough group last start, where an 84 speed figure only earned him a 7th place finish in a listed stakes. Chin Music has showed continued improvement and should have no problems with the routing distance. He is a difficult horse to read, since his decent effort last time out was against tough competition, but it would not be a shock to see him perform well here.
The Sprouter(JPN), is no joke of a horse. Trained by constant message board prankster, meguire3rd, the son of Roses in May enters the race off an allowance victory in his first route try. It took The Sprouter five races to break his maiden, but he has shown constant improvement. His sire won the Dubai World Cup, so distance should not limit the chances of The Sprouter. The Sprouter will need to prove that he can handle the class jump, but his win in his first route try is encouraging. Meguire may be LOL’ing if The Sprouter hits the board at 15/1.
One of two maidens in the field, Colac, is trained by alishan’s umatilla stable. The son of world record holding Elusive Quality has went to post four times and posted his best career speed figure at a mile on the main track. He has a beautiful back end with Halo and Ela-Mana-Mou and really could shock here, despite being a maiden. He has run into tough competition in each of his starts and should love the distance. A sneaky play here, Colac may need to lay off the pace some – or could benefit from being the early pace setter on soft fractions. He will leave from post seven for jockey F Donnell.
Trained by another chat room favorite, stylez8, Baby Blaze is a son of top sire Mr. Greeley, making just his third career start. Out of a broodmare who was successful early in her career, Baby Blaze broke his maiden on this very same
The belle of Blazing Saddles, Kloie, brings number nine, Stalking Celery from the veggie48 stable, into the race. The son of Dixie Union has produced strong speed figures in his five career starts, including a stellar 81 speed figure in his last effort, in the I Wish I Was a Skunk Stakes. Kloie may be concerned about her colts ability to handle the mile and an eighth distance, as he faded in his last start, in his first attempt at a route. His sire, Dixie Union was a multiple graded stakes winning two year old, and Stalking Celery will try to follow his sires with a big step up in this race.
The Florida bred Skunkhill Affair leaves from post ten, predictably trained by skunkbarn, comes in after a strong routing performance in the Colonel Port listed Stakes. Skunhill Affair sat close to the pace early before launching a late run for second with a strong 87 speed figure. Despite being a
The Equinics representative for Blazing Saddles, Pure Smoke, actually takes a bit of a step down in competition, having run his last three starts in Graded company. Trained by popular chatter and all around good guy galloplaz, Pure Smoke demonstrated his precociousness early winning his first two starts, including a stakes. He did not embarrass himself in his graded tries, including a pair of fifths. The big question for Pure Smoke, outside of the wisdom of someone admitting to being an Oakland Raider fan, is the 8.5f distance. He is by a Storm Cat line stallion and faded a bit at the end of the North Fork Stakes. His class advantage over this field should serve him well. If he can handle the distance, he is among the most likely winners. Pure Smoke is listed at 7/1, which seems a great value for the success colt.
