Everybody Loves Karaoka Night in Delaware

Gowans sends out Karaoka Night to extend win streak to three. She faces seven others in Grade 3 Bickerknocker.

Karaoke Night (#7, 7-1) heads into this contest a perfect two-for-two this campaign. Gowans has the magic touch right now with the daughter of Night of Thunder. She came off the bench to win with ease in June. Last out, she attended the pace and ran off as she pleased in a Kentucky Stakes, setting a new speed badge (113) in the process. A sharp barn sends a classy mare in top form to the track and the bettors will take notice.

Zappa Head (#3, 5-1) from the Frankster barn is a homebred who has been patiently handled through a nineteen race career. They put her through her conditions and have kept a fresh horse for the fall. After winning once last season the Ghostzapper mare has finished worse than third only once this campaign. The five-time winner has two scores this season in Allowance company and was moved into Graded stakes action for her latest effort. She ran a non-threathening sixth but the connections are eager to cutback in distance and try the Graded waters again. Her numbers are good, with a top speed badge of 110, but the class test is waiting for her again on this day.

Stockswami’s Muhaarar’s Girl (#2 7-2) is a very consistent homebred looking for her first Graded score. The mare seven of ten in-the-money for her last two campaigns. She’s Graded Stakes placed from finishing third in the Whole Time and Honey Bee. She recorded a new speed badge 115 in April and has been regularly around that number this campaign. Her only blemish on her card occurred last time out when she caught a yielding turf in New Jersey and trailed home a distant eleventh. With good weather and firm ground on the way Saturday she’s a good bet to turn it around.

Asti Dance (#5, 4-1) was so good to close out last year. Shagfarms 5-year-old mare set a new speed badge of 114 when third in the Grade 1 Motherly Love to end 2023. She was placed in Graded Stakes to start this campaign and was unable show her true form. Last out was a terrific form reversal for the daughter of Vino Rosso as she took an easy confidence building win in California. The speed figure of 111 reveals some quality to her run. She’ll need her best here as she steps back into Graded Stakes action.

Chips4u is sending a nicely bred filly by Nathaniel to Delaware for the toughest race of her career. Two Day Test (#8, 6-1) a four-year-old with four wins and 10 on-the-board placings from fourteen career races. This filly might do her best over a course with with some give to it. However, this Saturday a stern class test and a firm turf course awaits the bay. After going unraced at two, the filly has been very consistent as she runs through her conditions. Early in the campaign she raced to a new speed badge when running a good second while taking a 108 figure. She’s won two of her last three and will be full of confidence on Saturday.

Tenpoint’s Ace I Can Keep (#4, 4-1) brings class and a desire for a Graded Stakes pacing into Saturday’s race. The five-year-old mare was a mark of consistency early in her career. But she didn’t win a Stakes race until February of this season. Her speed badge of 114 makes her a top contender in this spot and she has Graded Stakes experience which makes her a tough foe to face.

Irish Prado (#1, 6-1) is a four-year-old filly from Dydalt Racing. This gal is the most successful daughter of Kaspersky. She was terrific at two. Followed that up with being multiple Grade 1 placed as a three-year-old. She also set a speed badge of 111. It’s been a busy campaign for her but she’s still doing very well. In August she was second in a NW4L by running a 109. Its one of her best numbers and could signal she’s sitting on a big race. This day she’ll try to win her first Graded race.

Nevada Racing sends Rebel Dane filly, Rebel Kanaloa NV (#6, 16-1) post ward looking for another Graded score. The bay only has one win this campaign but it was an important one. In January, she made a strong late run to win the Triangular Star with a 102 speed figure. Two back she stayed on for third in the Grade 3 Chloe. She took a new speed badge that day of 108. She’s usually a contender at this class and trip but on this day she’ll meet older runners for the first time.
