Astute Auction Purchase Lands Feature

$2.6 Million dollar filly STONERS OWNS TEXAS justified her recent auction price by winning Saturday’s feature race at Newmarket- The All In A Glory Stks.

The daughter of Rahy was sold after a solid enough effort on debut, over what was clearly an unsuitable distance give her classic pedigree. Sold at auction to Fitzgerald, the filly broke her maiden in comfortable fashion after a 2mth spell and was immediately set for better class races.

She raced on the pace, sharing the lead with the speedy SISSON’S ZAMINDAR who as expected found the 8f a tad to far. STONERS OWNS TEXAS dropped that filly turning for home and comfortably held out PLATINUM HALL and DISPARATE IMPACTS by 1.5L and 2.5L respectively, running the mile in nice enough time of 1:37.

The winner looks destined for better things, and she should undoubtedly be able to repeat the dose in similar company before the year is out. I would think that Fitzgerald would definitely have aspirations to be back here early next year for the 1000 Guineas, and then onto Epsom for the Oaks. Fourth filly BLUSH TO INDULGE ran her race in patches and looks in need of a step up in trip as highlighted by the BTB pre-race. Given she wont get it as a 2yo, this filly might be one to keep an eye on for next year.
