Aptly Named Flawless Victory Upset Minded

Jacklad’s red hot Flawless Victory defied his odds of almost 14-1 to post an impressive win in Norway’s Capone Stake.  The impeccably bred three year old (Kingmambo x Storm Cat) stalked the pacesetter from mid-pack and then accelerated quickly in deep stretch to catch Fluminense in the shadow of the wire.  The latter, in front from the word go, opened a clear lead close to home but could not contain the winner’s final surge while finishing well clear of the others in a sharp effort.

Crimson Prospector was well placed throughout and finished evenly to salvage the show.  Favored Ronaldo’s Sword was always outrun.  Third choice The Beast Goes On was never in contention and did a steady fade to last.

Homebred Flawless Victory earned a speed rating of 101 while posting his initial career stakes win in his very first try.  It was the flashy chestnut’s fifth victory in his last six starts and clearly stamped him as a horse to deal with in the deep and talented sophomore turf division.
