The Man o War stakes is a race filled with tradition and on Saturday we will find out which horse will be next to take his place in history. In the meantime let us take a look at the entries:

Trainer: Racer
Jockey: W. Jenkins
Race Record: 17-4-6-3
Odds: 11-1

The 4yr. old son of Giant”s Causeway appears to be coming into the race in good form. Winning the Grade 3 Fusahoochie Turf classic in his last start and placing in 7 straight. Although a consistent sort, the rise in class may be too much to over come.

Trainer: Wrecks2
Jockey: B. Child
Race Record: 37-18-4-4
Odds: 5-1

The multible Grade I winning son of Kingmambo is coming into the race off 2 straight Grade I victories, in impressive style and looks to be one of the contenders when the horses hit the wire.

Trainer: Lenny9
Jockey: R. Michaels
Race Record: 25-6-7-3
Odds: 12-1

Fang is another horse coming into the race off a winning effort. Winning the Monkey Football Memorial by 3 lengths, but again the jump in class may be too much for this winner of 219k. In his only previous attempt at Grade I company he finished a dismal 6th after contending early.

Trainer: Asoiaf
Jockey: P. Davis
Race Record: 30-9-10-3
Odss: 11-1

The winner of over 2.7 million dollars, enters the race off a lack luster win against allowance company and today may find the pressure up front too much too handle.

POST #5 A CASE IN POINT (KY)
Trainer: Tsunami4
Jockey: B. Williams
Race Record: 47-7-7-5
Odds: 99-1

The 4yr. old daughter of Point Given has been hard pressed just to compete in her last 9 starts, all Grade Is and her SP#s are on the decline. I hope she has a Bus Pass if she plans to be around for the winners circle ceremony today.

Trainer: Layeguada
Jockey: Ax Williams
Race Record: 30-9-9-4
Odds: 5-1

The Multible Graded winning daughter of Smarty Jones, comes into the race a winner of 4 of her last 5 starts, but is being ridden today by the low% and seldom used Ax Williams. She will need to be a little closer to the pace then usual today if she expects to contend.

Trainer: focusforce
Jockey: G. Rolling
Race Record: 27-8-5-5
Odds: 13-1

The late running son of Orientate is not without a chance considering the likely fast pace up front, but it will take a Superman-like effort to be up in time.

Trainer: shawke
Jockey: C. Ambrose
Race Record: 21-6-7-1
Odds: 9-1

A Grade I winning son of Dynaformer and earner of over 1 million dollars, who finished 2nd in his last start, the Grade I Windy City Turf Classic and only off the board once in his last 6 starts. His style of stalking the pace makes him a possible contender, if not for the whole Enchilada, at least for some of the Beans and Rice.

Trainer: lenny3
Jockey: A. Sailor
Race Record: 11-5-4-1
Odds: 17-1

This highly consistant, but lightly raced 3yr. old son of Sadler Wells is taking on older horses for the first time. he is coming in off a 2nd place effort in his last start The Grade I Irish Derby and appears to be a colt of much talent. His running style should put him close at the finish, but his connections are asking alot of this young horse and have him in a tough spot. 4th leading rider aboard.

Trainer: catspaw
Jockey: N. Lawton
Race Record: 24-5-8-3
Odds: 7-1

Never off the board in his last 12 starts, this 4yr. old son of Rainbow Quest has the speed and the class to contend for today’s top prize and doesn’t seem to have showed his best yet. Gets Leading rider N. Lawton today. BEWARE!!

Trainer: dormello
Jockey: S. Buda
Race Record: 32-11-6-5
Odds: 12-1

This extremely fast son of Sadler’s Wells is a unknown quantity having won his last three against against lessor compition in swift time. Could get a share.

POST #12 SEEKING AN EMPIRE (KY)
Trainer: fairhaven
Jockey: N. Painter
Race Record: 21-7-4-2

This versatile son of Empire Maker is one of few horses in the race that can either run on the front end or come from behind. It will be interesting what his connections decide for tactics. In with a big shot.

Trainor: tsunami363
Jockey: M. Humphrey
Race Record: 47-7-3-7
Odds: 99-1

Seemingly over matched.

Trainer: kool4katz
Jockey: Er. Anderson
Race Record: 24-11-6-1
Odds: 5-1

An earner of almost 1.4 million dollars and 2nd in his most recent outing will need a similar like effort today to contend. Has the hot riding Er. Anderson up today

The race sums up as a contest between the true and tried and the young and up coming. It is this reporters opinion that the race belongs to PUPPET REGIME and 4 or 5 of the others battling for the lessor positions. I guess we will all find out for sure Saturday. HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE RACES….
