FIELD TRIP!!
Hello Everyone,
It’s me Steve, back again today as your unofficial back-stretch tour guide. On today’s menu is a visit to our newest facility on the backside, The “Horse Stats” organizer. For those of you(me included til now) who haven’t taken the time to stop in and take a look around…. The “horse Stats” organizer, in a sense, is the heart and soul of our sim. It is a collection of all the facts and figures generated from our little world, and served to you(ala Burger King), “Your Way”.This is a place that will make even the most data hungry simsters, hard with excitement. And for those of you who think that there is a key “out there’, some where? to unlock the secrets of our world, this just may be the place you find it. it is a place that would even make Ripley”s Believe it or not, green with envy. The “Horse Stats” organizer is a relativly simple tool to use. the control panel gives you four basic selections to set(Breeding Tag, Age, Sex, Search Catorgories) and it is through these hundreds, maybe thousands of posible setting combinations, that a person might find the Holy Grail to our sim world! if nothing else it is a good way to lose track of 4 or 5 hours of your day, plus leaving you with a small headache and scratching your head wondering what if…….
some of the search categories include:
most overall races
most overall wins
most overall itm
most money won
ect.
some interesting facts i came up with, that you may or may not know:
1) There have been 88 horses to date that have made 100 starts.
2) 47 of those 88 are owned by the ***cpu or a new player
11 by shortblue
9 by perkos
3) 6 of those 88 were sired by Peintre Celebre
4 by Rory Jester
3 by Kiridashi
3 by King of Kings
4) There was at least 1 maiden (i didnt have time to look at them all, but there was at least 1).
5) most Wins-(tie) 37 Bob The Cob
Stars of Libra
6) most ITMs- 71 Bob The Cob
68 Stars of Libra
7) of the top 50 winningest horses (min 21 wins)
2 each sired by Rahy, Kingmambo, Wild Again
In review, i would have to give it a B+ overall. It is easy to use and very informational, but being a newbie i have to wonder exactly how important are the numbers(stats)? How much is random occurance? Are we just trying to play the statistical percentages? What is the human variable? and/or are we just guessing that the numbers mean anything at all? In other words, go check it out for yourself and see if it has anything useful for yourself. if you are like me and always asking that question “why”? this is the place for you!
***if i made any errors or omitted anything or anybody, i am sorry. these were just statistics that stood out to me. Last, but not least i will plead old age and senility if necessary. thanks
Till next time, this is your Tour Guide Steve saying “SEE YOU AT THE RACES”
