Grade 3 Stakes – Purse $150,000
Restricted to 3 Year Old Fillies
12 furlongs on Dirt
Today we travel to Bro Park Racecourse in Uplands Bro Municipality (40 km from Stockholm) for the running of the “Oaks de Swedish”, a twelve furlong race on the dirt for three-year old fillies. The race features some of the best the EURO RESIDENCY has to offer and the winner will take home the majority share of the $150,000 purse. We have perfect conditions for racing and a huge crowd is in attendance.
Here is a closer look at the field:

This BLACK EAGLE filly has finished in the money in five of her eight starts and started the year with two nine furlong wins back home in Canada. She makes her first Graded Stakes start on the heels of two Stakes starts which resulted in fourth and sixth place finishes. Last time out she ran career best 99 speed at the “Alytara Cad Dirt Filly Route” but was stuck mid pack the whole race and could not catch the leaders. I expect a similar result here against this competitive field of fourteen.

This MUNNINGS filly comes in off three straight runner-up finishes at nine and a half furlong Allowance Races in Paris. She likes to go to the front early and challenge the field to run her down but in each of her last three starts she has had the lead and faded down the stretch. She may be best suited to run at a mile and I think would be very successful at that distance. Unfortunately I think the twelve furlong track will be too much for her and I don’t think she will be a factor here.

This DUBAI THUNDER filly is making her fifth start of the year and has finished in the money in all but one of her previous four. Last time out she made her first Stakes start at the nine and a half furlong “Desert Dish Dirt Filly Route” where she ran 89 speed and finished fourth . I think she should be able to handle the distance here and she should have a chance against this competitive group of fourteen.

This TOO DARN HOT filly has finished in the money in eight of her eleven career starts including two wins with the most recent coming at a nine and a half furlong Allowance Race where she went gate to wire and ran career best 94 speed. She is making her first Stakes start here but I think she will handle the distance and could be a nice surprise out of the six hole. She will likely go out front early and will hope to be able to hold off any challengers and find a spot on the board.

This I AM INVINCIBLE filly is making her second Graded Stakes start with the previous coming at the “G1 Los Vinegrette Stakes” where she ran 98 speed over the mile track and resulted in a fifth place finish. She comes in off a gate to wire win at the “Super Glitter Dirt Filly Route” where she topped 100 speed for the first time and edged out NOT A FLUKE by less than a length. She should be in the mix and will likely look to get out front early and challenge the rest of the field to catch her as they make the final turn for home.

This JUSTIFY filly has had a great start to her three year old season having finished in the money in all four starts including two wins. Last time out she had a runner-up finish at the ten furlong “Trade Wins Dirt Filly Route”. She showed decent 94 speed there and ran near the back of the pack which she will look to do again here today. She should compete with this field and might be a nice long shot pick to find a spot on the board.

This AMERICAN PHAROAH filly makes the first Graded start of her career following four straight Stakes races. Last time out she ran 101 speed over a nine and a half furlong track at the “Desert Dish Dirt Filly Route” and finished second, less than a length behind winner SING SEVEN SONGS. She comes in well rested and I think she will like the distance here and she should be in the mix as they come down the stretch.

This DAREDEVIL filly has made two straight G3 starts to begin her three-year old campaign which resulted in eighth and ninth place finishes. She has never gone more than eight and a half furlongs in any of her races and I am not sure if she will be able to handle the distance. She comes in well rested and will hope to find a spot on the board for the ownership group.

This VOLATILE filly has made eight career starts to date with three of those being HOT races. Last time out she ran 58 speed in a four and a half furlong HOT race and finished in third in a four horse field. She will gain some much needed experience here that will serve her well in the future but unfortunately she will be greatly over matched against this competitive group.

This FIERCE IMPACT filly broke her maiden two back when she ran 88 speed over a nine furlong track in South Africa. She followed that up with career best 93 speed in a nine and a half furlong Allowance Race where she was beaten by less than a length by THE FENCE. Her running style looks to be well suited for this distance and I think she could be a nice surprise and might sneak in for a spot on the board. Bettors who take a flier on this one might be “laffing” all the way to the bank.

This CRYSTAL OCEAN filly has finished in the money in five of her ten career starts with her only win coming in her debut as a two-year old in January 2021. She has made four previous Graded Stakes starts with her best result being a third place finish at the “G3 Capital Stakes”. She likes to get out front early and I think could have some success as a sprinter. I don’t think she will be a factor here today.

This TAKE CHARGE INDY filly has made the most starts of any horse in the field as she will make her twelfth start here today. She has finished in the money in six of her starts but four of those came at HOT races. She will need to greatly improve on her career best 76 speed if she wants to compete with this group.

This CHARM SPIRIT filly comes in off an impressive 103 speed win at the “Irish Road” which covered nine furlongs on the dirt. Two back she won the “Wile E Coyote Dirt Filly Dash” when she ran 98 speed over seven and a half furlongs in Japan. She should go off as one of the favorites and if she can repeat her recent speed she has a good chance of finding a spot on the board.

This TAPWRIT filly returns to the dirt after back to back turf starts that resulted in a win and a runner-up finish. All of her other starts have come on the dirt and include two Graded races that saw her finish sixth at the “G1 Mothers Day” and last at the “G2 Stoker Handicap”. I don’t think she will like the distance here but she could have a nice future ahead of her and the experience will benefit her in the long run.
