Comeback by an experienced trainer Part 6
Comeback by an experienced Trainer Part 6
After roughly 6 weeks back in the sim, I get more and more a better feeling, of where to place horses best, and the importance of race bidding becomes obvious, I guess my track record in bid for races is way better than those I assigned into races made originally. Boble stables, now counting 13 stables(a boring afternoon at work made me select horses for another stable J) and this week I had 5 winners out of around 40 runners, so I’m getting better. The real interesting thing is, that 4 of those winners ran in races I bid for to assign those horses into. A very important feature is to place first time runners for your stables perfectly, the 100% bonus can let you win 50 BP in one race easily, and thats a huge amount of BP. So a bid of 26 credits can be transformed into 50 BP. Thats nice, and shows me writing for the BTB is a worthy thing, not only to contribute for the sim, but also to collect credits, which I usually spent for race bidding. I try to bid for those horses that I see need very restrictive races, like lifetime or conditional win numbers, I haven’t experimented with CPU values so far, but guess this also could be worth a try to maximize the chances of making a claimer win the first time out, even more important, without getting claimed. This week I won 4 claimers, and none of those got claimed, so back-to back point production can become worthwhile selecting races again. I’ll look at my winners in detail later, but first let’s take a look at the stables I feature in this report, boble and boble2.
Boble, still loaded with 1,4 Million$ and 340 BP, had a rough week, I collected 33 points with 3 runners. I still have had no success with my homebred horses, I roughly had 10 of them make first time starts now, and the best was a 3rd place this week, ok, some are bred for longer distances, but nevertheless, I hoped one would turn out to be a worthy 2yo sprinter.
I had 2 homebreds running for boble this week:
Boheart (ALBERTO GIACOMETTI (IRE) x DUBAI MILLENNIUM (GB) x SAINT BALLADO) she is bred after a graded stakes winner in this sim, who is also by the same sire x dam sire combination, so this connection has proven itself, well, she couldn’t a flat 48 over 7f is not what I wanted, may switch her to the dirt for one try and then put her away until she is 3yo.
BoLight(AWESOME AGAIN x DANZIG x NORTHERN DANCER) she is a 25$ credit breed and well, likely needs longer distances, the debut was ok with a 65 over 6f on the dirt, will likely look for a 7f dirt race in 5-6 weeks.
Not much better my auction purchase Actuate, she isn’t really developing, stepped her back in distance, but a 3rd place in a 4 runner ALW race was not what i was looking for, ran a disappointing 73 over 9f Turf. I will now switch her to dirt and look, if that will help, she only had 1 dirt try early in her career and it looked about the same, than her turf numbers at that career stage. With my newbie stable boble2, which now has a total of 155BP and 10,000$ in it’s account, I had a much better week, only 2 runners, but one was a winner, and even an unclaimed winner, take a look at Broom Hilda ETS:

Claimed for 3500, I made her a 5000$ MC, back at the same track she ran before, and she proofed it worthy, won in a career high speed of 81, at her likely best trip of 6f. This horse likely will not have much of a succesful career, and likely not run for much higher tags, but it shows, that a well spotted claim, and a nicely bid for race can combine for a maximum outcome, I don’t expect her to go unclaimed next time out, but she’s just not good enough for starters or ALWs.
My other runner was Private Report, one of the 5 original horses I got, well it’s a dirt sprinter with not much talent, finished 5th in a 10K CLM, he’ll stick around running for 2K to 10K tags, and likely pick up some loose points, perhaps worth to think about putting him into the auction, but I have worse horses who will be unloaded there on the day I hit 20 races.
Notes from other Boble Stables:
If you have winners you wanna brag about them, if you pick up a horse that likely can run ALWs and you have dreams about, it’s even nicer. I have one of those this week, with my stable viro227 I claimed a maiden, which i saw never ran a distance beyond 8.5f, but looked closing in her last races, so I claimed her for 4K, here is what she produced today:

A 54 BP MC win, and going unclaimed, she’ll now go into STR, I have hopes she’ll get even better at 10f, as she was running away, and wanna find out, until what distance she can be stretched. This is a horse I really like, it may have been a career high 90, but going 8 speed faster at 9f, then at 8f, she shows life. Those are the races I enjoy most, you can start dreamin, where this filly will go, can she hit the 100 at 10f, can she win STRs regularly, or even get better?
My other winners in short:

Fight the Power is running out of Conditions, likely will find it tough to continue winning as the speed numbers look not good enough for open ALWs, but celebrate the wins as long as they keep coming.

Another nice claim pick up, with lots of conditions left, hope I can get him through once more unclaimed by raising the tag.

Jazz Hands showed, that spotting a soft field and using a 2nd entry after scratching the first can be worth it, cracked 100, with the low 4K Tag, I wanna put her into STRs.
Thats it for this week, next week I wanna take a more in-depth look into homebreds, and why all my homebreds seem to come short in their first races, something, that really annoys me, is breeding a useful horse becoming something like a lottery win?
Until than good Luck at the races.
