Cat Charm Ted triumphant in Germany
It was a dominating wire-to-wire performance, by a colt not many expected in the winners Circle CAT CHARM TED(JPN) (SILVER CHARM x STORM CAT x HAIL TO REASON) surprised many by taking his first Graded Stakes win in Germany. He was clocked at 1:48 1/5, giving him a lifetime high speed figure of 106, he hadn’t broken 100 before.
It has to be seen, if this was just his day of his lifetime, or if he can establish himself now at the elite of horse Racing.
In 2nd came Lucky’s Carpet, who bounced back from poor performances by stalking the leaders and then taking down the fading horses, however he stayed 2 ¼ Lengths out of Cat Charm Ted. The nice colt pleased his connections, who feared the worst since his off performance in the Florida derby, it is yet unknown, where the colt will continue his summer season.
3rd Placed was Hueco Mundo, the bookies didn’t give him credit, but lots experienced writers did, he started his way to the front half way through the race, and almost caught 2nd place finisher Lucky’s Carpet, a nice 103 Speed Mark was his so far best, and we can expect to see much more from this colt, the step up to graded company was well timed, and he can establish himself in the best 3yr old class.
Joint Favourites Budget Day and Hookah ran disappointing races, Budget Day was never able to get out of the mid pack and finished 9th, while Hookah ran an even worser race falling out of the mid pack finishing in 13th, the back to back stakes winner never found a grip in the race, and connections were very disappointed.
