The 2yo season really hasn’t caught alight yet and so we have another disappointing small field for this weeks feature race in longchamps.  Added to that we officially have a yielding track so make sure you bring an umbrella. The runners are:

A 2yo filly from Vertain6 Stables bred from a C class mare (Bustfully Spin) by mano. What can I say?  An unraced filly in a stakes race named as favourite on an off-track.  Statistically she probably doesn’t stand a chance so we have a very open race in prospect.

A 2yo filly from Smokeglack Stables bred from a B class mare (Cocoa(IRE)).  A filly with a graded race winning dam who certainly improved on her second run in Taiwan after only managing a second place in New South Wales.  She could run an even bigger race here.

A scratch bred 2yo filly from Lisa3 Stables.  Won her only, an allowance in New South Wales, and could be slightly better than her odds suggest.

A 2yo filly from Candlestick Farm Stables bred from a G class mare.  Both her runs have been in New South Wales.  Her first run on dirt was none too spectacular but she made up for that next time with a narrow turf win.  She looks like she may be under a bit of pressure from some of these and it will be interesting (for me at any rate) to see if she can rise to the occasion.

A scratch bred 2yo filly from Nickeysd Racing Club.  Failed in N. California but came good in Nevada, with the best sp# of any of the others here.  Put in fairly lame performance in a restricted stakes in Norway last time, but still managed a 2^nd place,  so her owner will be hoping for a repeat of her Nevada win here.  

Summary

An open race in which I can only really discount the favourite.  A coin toss comes up with March XVII(ENG) if she can repeat her last race.
