K’S STORM MAKER Runs ’em Down in Bluegrass Sprint

Entering the lane in the Bluegrass Sprint, it looked like dowelly‘s RED NATIVE WOODMAN had things locked away, having dispatched favored FERNANDO STORM as he rounded the far turn.  He drew away to a 2-length lead in midstretch before MR TOMS RIVER, having stalked the leaders throughout, made his move.  That one hit the lead inside the sixteenth-pole and looked like HE had brought home the bulk of the $225k prize for honeyj…

Wait…  What’s THAT flying from the back??  Forego?  Kelso?  John Henry? Silky Sullivan?  No, it was K’S STORM MAKER, charging from FAR back, where he had languished as far back as 12 lengths for the first two-thirds of the race)!  At the furlong pole, he was still some seven lengths back, but eating up ground with every stride!  With the wreckagees camp jumping and screaming from their box, the brown son of Empire Maker burned up the last furlong and caught the leader with just a couple of strides remaining and quickly roared under the wire, 1/2-length to the good!

In only his 2nd career graded-stakes try, K’S STORM MAKER has already shown that will be one to watch for in the future, and a strong runner for ledwith‘s powerful Pompeya Thoroughbred Racing Corporation.
