Credit Clock(KY) romps to victory in Jennifer’s Seas Challenge
Credit Clock(KY) shot out of the gate like a missile and never looked back to snatch a victory in this week’s Jennifer’s Seas Challenge. This was the second stakes win for the filly, coming on the heels of her first a month ago in Jamaica. This makes four wins in thirteen starts for the four year old daughter of Fusaichi Pegasus, taking her career earnings to the $119899 mark. The stakes points allowed her to hit the leaderboard in the Older Turf Classic division, jumping her to a rank of 233 among older females. It also bolstered her Sprint ranking, moving her up thrity one places to a rank of 153 in that division. Handicappers were not totally disappointed this week at the betting windows, with a longshot rounding out the trifecta. The winner paid $7.90 $3.80 $2.90 across the board. Exacta payout wasn’t the best, paying $21.40, but for those that hit the trifecta, winnings were more respectable with a $140.40 payout on a two dollar bet.
Credit Clock(KY) powered out of the gate in this one, and she was allowed to take the lead virtually uncontested in the early going. She took full advantage of that turn of events to build a cushion which had extended to four and a half lengths as they crossed the halfway mark. The deeper closers began to move some as they crossed the half, but Credit Clock(KY) maintained full control of the pace. With plenty left for the second half, she extended her lead to six and a quarter as they passed the third call and headed into the stretch. Down the stretch the closers woke up with a late flurry, but there was simply too much ground to make up by that point. Race favorite Risk Of Ruin(KY) ate up six of the nine lengths she was trailing at third call, to close to three lengths where she crossed the wire in second place. Longshot bid Moon D’Inverne(IRE) posted the second best speed of her career to grab third pace, four and three quarters out at the wire.
