This colt out of Strike the Gold is the most experienced horse in the field already running in Graded Stakes as a 2yo and is running right back after racing last week in a South Africa NW4L. He went off favorite in that 9F race and won by 1 3/4 lengths with a speed figure of 73. He is second choice here in the morning line. I am not sure he is up to today’s task after running 7 days ago.

Hallow’s End has finished 2nd is his previous two races which were both sprint Stakes races. His last race was in Jan. in HK in a 6F contest where he started last and came on to miss by 1 1/2.The Stakes race before that was a 7.5F race in Dubai where he also missed coming from behind. He won his race before that in an Alw NW2L. His last 3 Sp #’s have improved in every race 84,90,92. One to watch!

This colt started his career on turf where he broke his maiden first time out and understandably with breeding like his. Trainer Masterab was not impressed with his next two races on Turf and put him on dirt in a 8.5F race where he ran third by 6 1/2 with a 80 Speed rating. His first race of ’08 he kept him on dirt and stretched him to 9.5F and he won going away by 2 1/2 with a SP # of 89. I do not like the morning odds on Deeproute.com at all and think he should at least hit the board.

Trainer Veeman5 has entered this lightly raced colt in today’s race who only has 3 lifetime races. He broke his maiden FTO in a MSW 45200 5.5F on turf running a 65 SP#. He stretched him to 7F next time out, keeping him on turf in an ALW NW2L where he ran up the track finishing 8th in a 10 horse field. His next race he changed surfaces and it proved to be the right thing to do because MANNING won that 7F ALW NW2L 40500 by 1 3/4 lengths. He is 1-1 on dirt and his SP #’s jumped from 64 last time on turf to 86 1st time on dirt and could fair well in this race. Another WATCH horse.

This 3yo colt out of Forestry is your morning line fav. In his four lifetime starts he has been stretched out nicely on dirt starting and winning at 5F, next time out he ran in a 6F NW2L Alw coming in second by 1, then trainer Stormcat55 placed him perfectly in another ALW NW2L at 7.5F where he drew off from the rest of the field by 2 3/4. Three weeks ago he ran his first time at a mile and did very well finishing second in an ALW NW3L by 1/4 of a length with an impressive SP# of 92. I cannot go against the Oddsmaker here and this is my pick to win this race.

BICHITA STAR went off favorite in his career debut on turf but didn’t fair too well and Trainer Bichitos tried dirt his next time out and won his maiden race by a length over his foes. It took him four races to win an ALW NW2L, but ever since running on dirt Bichitos Star has finished ITM every time. You have to put this colt in your exotic bets. He has the number two rated Jockey in A Reed. Could be dangerous.

This is one of only two Stakes winners in this race. Ack Loch won the 8F The GAL PHONING CAP in SA last year with a speed figure of 90. Trainer Wispa might have misplaced him by entering him in the Grade 1 ERUPTION HANDICAP where ACK LOCH didn’t fire and came last in a 14 horse field. His only race this year was a Stakes race in Queensland and he finished 8th running a 76 at 9.5F. Wispa has given him a month off and hopes by putting him back at 8F will help.

His last race was on turf in a Non Graded Stakes and Trainer Topicount said ” I don’t think he liked the turf today, and we will put him back on dirt where he has had success.” Leading Jockey Z Kentucky will take the mount.
