Young Guns!
The big 4 residencies from the EAAA division clash this weekend in a ‘World Cup’ style event to find out who is top dog. The event is a barometer to guage the strength of the division before they are all pitched into battle against the other residencies in this summer’s Equinics.
This race highlights those speedy youngsters who have been kicking dirt in the oppositions faces for most of last year. They now get the opportunity to lay claim to being the fastest youngster on dirt stabled within the EAAA division.
Let battle commence!
1 145711 QUINCY(KY) disturbed P Kays 18/1
(Ireland)
A colt by Vindication out of a mare who failed to score in 10 starts.
Her first offspring has already overtaken Mama by winning a maiden with
his debut on the dirt eight weeks ago. He has been well-rested but may
find the trip a little on the short side on Saturday. Sure to be running
on at the end and looks a nice prospect for the future.
2 137978 WOOMERA(AUS) stickup S Gann 12/1
(Queensland)
A filly by Arazi out of the well-bred mare Deputy Shmurphy. In five runs
this filly has yet to finish out of the first two and judged on her last
run, enjoyed the switch back to the dirt when trotting up in a nw2l
allowance. Another one that may be run off her feet at this trip but
looks one to follow around a mile.
3 152038 CARDBOARD JESUS(NM) rtstables P Ingram 65/1
(Queensland)
A colt with plain breeding who has still to win a race and may find the
company here a little too hot at this stage of his career. A promising
run last time when 2nd in a 14 runner maiden but needs to show plenty of
improvement to shake up the market leaders.
4 148312 PAINTERSN’DOCKERS(ENG) sloma J Bailey 13/1
(Ireland)
Light grey colt by With Approval who will be having his 4th start on
Saturday. His three previous runs have yielded two 2nd places in maiden
company and a well-beaten 4th of 6 in sloppy ground in stakes company
last time. The pedigree is all stamina and although his running style is
to be at the head of affairs, his race could be run by the time they
enter the final quarter mile.
5 139221 SEHR GUT(NZ) scootboy P Wildey 5/1
(EAAA Racing)
An experienced filly with plain lines which she is clearly out
performing at present. Nine previous runs have yielded no less than six
wins incorporating four stakes wins. She goes on any surface and has won
her last three races at this trip. Unquestionably will be in the firing
line at the business end.
6 132896 GILDED EDGE(KY) hwhisper C Wyatt 4/1
(EAAA Racing)
Another experienced filly hailing from the same residency as the
previous reviewee. She won her first four starts incorporating two
stakes races and was subsequently moved up in grade. In four subsequent
graded races she has yet to finish out of the frame and was a hairs
breadth away from taking the G1 World Cup Juvenile Filly Sprint. She is
4th ranked in her division and already has a distinguished record
against the colts. A proverbial flying machine.
7 136912 MI RUTHERFORD(MD) poolshoota J Ustin 5/1
(Ireland)
This colt by Waquoit is the most experienced in the field with ten runs
already under his belt. Has been predominantly campaigned on the turf,
where seven runs have yielded three victories including two stakes wins.
A move back to the dirt last time proved beneficial where he put up his
best speed figure to date, finishing 2nd of 5 in a stakes event. Likely
to be towing the field along for most of the way and will try to repel
the challengers in the final furlong.
8 48204 FULL FORCE(KY) zboro M Cameron 7/2
(EAAA Racing)
Favourite for the race without having the record of some of his
opponents but possibly has more scope. Only has a maiden win but ran
well in defeat on his three subsequent starts. Has a pedigree to drool
over and is likely to be thereabouts when we get to to the serious end
of the race.
9 142332 VIEW OF MILWAUKEE(FL) worldview T Phillips 14/1
(Alpine Turf Club)
Full brother to a stakes winner who proved best at a mile on the turf
and this fella unsurprisingly has been campaigned on that surface until
his last run where he posted a high speed figure on his dirt debut.
Still a maiden after seven runs and I’d be more enamoured with his
chance if he had at least got his head in front on one occasion.
10 142011 QUEEN OF THE SKY(AUS) skipnhappy M Radke 5/1
(Queensland)
A daughter of Flying Spur out of a Lear Fan mare. This filly is going
from strength to strength, having started off as a better-than-average
runner she has really blossomed in her last two runs, both stakes events
against the boys which she took readily. If she carries on here in the
same vein it will take a smart one to roll her over.
11 149226 DANEWAKI(IRE) sassafras D Papandrea 19/1
(Alpine Turf Club)
Lightly-raced colt by Danehill Dancer who is still finding his feet, not
a good spot for one still so inexperienced. His maiden win on his
penultimate start was promising but he probably requires at least a mile
to be shown at his best.
12 136859 SIMPLE SUGGESTION(ENG) stormcat55 T Cox 18/1
(Alpine Turf Club)
Daughter of Dubai Destination and much the best produce of her dam from
four foals. Looks to be equally effective on either surface and has yet
to finish out of the frame in her eight career runs without posting an
eye-popping number. Needs to step it up to be a factor here.
Some smart youngsters on view but EAAA hold all the cards with possibly only Queen Of The Sky likely to prevent an EAAA clean sweep.
