1 | AN URBAN LEGEND | 6/1 | Very consistent 5yo out of a ”F” rated mare that is available to all. The mare has 5 progeny and 3 of them are at least stakes winners, with 2 being graded placed. “Legend” is sired by Machiavellian and sports a 62% ITM lifetime with seven W’s. Horse is coming off a very exciting come from behind win in last stakes outing. Has won twice at the distance and loves the off going. At a juicy 6/1 how is one to ignore? Ironside has the mount….contender.
2 | THE GIANT’S GONE( | 7/2 |
A beautifully bred scratch bred by
3 | THE GREAT GLEN | 14/1 |
One of a few speed horses in this. This 4yo is out of a “F” rated mare that split time on dirt and turf. Former claimer/starter that ran at one time for a $2000 tag. This former claimer is the kind that could win
4 | KIRBY’S DEPUTY | 13/1 |
4yo scratch bred by Dynaformer. Bred to go hurdle distance, this colt could run forever. Colt could run any of these into the ground at 3 miles, but alas, the sim doesn’t go that long. If this event was 16 panels, he could pick up a possible win here. First try at a stakes and deservingly so after 2 mile triumph in last. Wish it was longer.
5 | TENPIN | 11/1 |
5yo machine going into his 48th event. Ran for a $15000 tag way back when, then got hot and racked off a series of wins and places at the end of his 3yo season and stayed steady at 4yo. Won a G2 while on the hot streak. At his best at 10-12f and now reaching the end of his career. We feel sure the trainer would love to see this animal reach the $1 mil mark, but that would be a trying mark at this stage. W&T has set in and he would have to somehow find a few short field stakes to get there. One nice thing about this race is he has some speed.
6 | BAD BAD RONALD( | 8/1 |
Out of a “G” rated he/she mare, this 7yo has in our estimation, run way beyond what his breeding suggests.
7 | LONESOME CREEK | 18/1 |
Out of a “G” rated mare; this 4yo colt ran for a tag at 3yo and was picked up by present connections. Colt has given his best in allowance events and proven steady. As the outsider in this he would really have to step up to be competitive. Probably will press pace. Hopefully his jock won’t abuse him if he can’t keep up.
8 | MINE D’INVERNE | 7/1 |
Lightly raced 5yo out of an “H” rated mare. Horse has a G1 win at the distance in the early part of this year and has run well in others. Last out was in the BB turf and he finished up the track. Now back after a six week break, he looks to get back to winning ways. He is one of the many in this that will be way off the pace. Does he need this race or will he be ready to perform? Our guess is, even if he isn’t ready, he will make a showing in this field. His 6yo season should be a good one.
9 | CORTEZ( | 3/1 |
Easily the class of this field. Seven graded victories including the
10 | MEETBALL(GB) | 5/1 |
No slouch here; this 5yo war horse is going into his 50th race and still firing in graded events! Out of a “G” rated he/she mare, this horse of steel just won’t quit. He has three W’s at the distance, and is hot at the moment. Jock Ross will hustle him out of the gate quickly and settle him very close to the pace. We see him breaking away at the half way mark and pouring it on to outlast the late rush. If not too spent, the field may not be up in time. Contender.
Got to love these long turf events. Anyone viewing this race will know at the 7f mark who’s in and who’s out. We like the #9 in this with the 1,10 as possibilities.
