This will be the first race of the Bargain Bowl and the crowd will be buzzing. Hopefully these youngsters will be ready for what will probably be the biggest crowd they’ve raced in front of. There are some real up an comers here and it should be a very close race so let’s take a look:

(RAKEEN x DEFRERE x GOLD CASE) A little bit of frustration for trainer 1917Sox and the Blacksoxuk 1917Sox Stables. Two races back this chestnut colt sizzled with a 72 SPF. Last time out he fizzled with a 44. Which one is real. For the Sox sake, I’m thinking that the last race was an aberration and that this colt could be in the mix. The inside post is wasted as he loves to drop way back and close late. Hopefully jockey Mulder can keep him focused and move at the right time so that we don’t have another that he falls asleep like the last race.

(LION HEARTED x BUGATTI REEF (IRE) x BOULDER DAM) This little brown filly is going up against the boys for the first time and may worry a bit about the competition. Trainer Dundy3 of the Dundey Acres Stables moved her to the dirt last time out and though she improved, she still finished way back. She’s going to have to bump that SPF about 20 points here and with Cutry on her back acting more like an anchor than a jockey it will be mighty tough.

(LUJAIN x ZIETEN x RUNAWAY GROOM) This colt has looked good for trainer ProSportza of the Hawkz Racing Stables in each of his two races. His first was a sizzling 78 SPF but with a second place finish, the last race was only a 60 SPF but that was all he needed as he won rather easily. He is a stalker that will benefit from the inside post and has Barnes in the leather with his solid numbers. All in all, this team should be a contender and in the mix at the end.

( BEST OF THE BESTS (IRE) x JAVA GOLD x JOHNNY JONES) An interesting filly here for trainer and owner APHill. She hasn’t shown great speed but has a second and a first in her two races. Sometimes that just means that was all she needed as opposed to all she had. She has Ingram holding the reins and he is one of the best at the track and should be able to guide her in her patented late charge down the stretch. I feel as if we will really see if she has the extra speed needed in this race.

( KEMPINSKY x STRAIGHT STRIKE x DANSEUR ETOILE(FR)) Two straight wins for this colt then trainer GatorNavy and the Hawkz Racing Stables decided to ship him to the World Cup at a mile in which he misfired. Back at the sprinters distance, this colt could be a formidable foe for the others in this race. He has had some nice high 70s SPFs and should have extra stamina from that mile trek. He may need the extra as jockey Pye is up and he has been rumored to be really battling the weight problem and it shows in his races this year.

( ALTIERI x CARNEGIE(IRE) x SORT) Five races on both surfaces with a finish on the board every time. This filly has also shown improvement every time out. The only worry is that she seems to like the mile a bit better than this distance and that has to worry trainer Hawkz3 and the Hawkz Racing Stables. Another bit of a worry is jockey Mar who has really been struggling this year. This filly loves the lead and should be able to get it from this post. We will see if she can hold on to it from there.

( ELSHAAN x SNURGE(IRE) x THE AXE II) Not being a big Patriots fan, I can say that this filly’s name about makes me gag! I can’t say too much more about her either because this will be her premier race. Trainer and owner LGBost3 is bringing her out in style, with her maiden race in one of the most prestigious Bargain Baby races of the year. Ringaskiddy in the saddle will help as he’s been solid this year. Good luck!

( GENTLEWAVE x MULDOON x JUMRON(GB)) Another first time running filly here from trainer BikeBoy and the “unnamed” stable that has joined the Rash Revolution. Astros is up and he hasn’t exactly been stellar this week. I’m not sure that this filly will add BPs to the Rash kitty this week.

( CITY ON A HILL x GREEN TUNE x ORIGINAL MANDATE) This nice looking colt made a huge jump from his first to second race with a nice 76 SPF. Unfortunately that was at a mile and trainer BlueRFC of the Blacksoxus 1917Sox Stables will have to see how that translates back to this sprinters distance. He just missed his maiden win in that last race and sure would love to get it here. He has Hechicera up and he has been having a bit of an up and down year. Lots of questions with this group.

( VAL DANSANT x HECTOR PROTECTOR x BOLD BASQUE) Trainer ImATiger of the Delta Tiger Stables claimed this nice looking chestnut colt two back and has done her regular magic with the horse. Though he had won the first two, he really improved his speed and looks like he could possibly turn into something special. This would be a great place to show the world. He has Singhi guiding and he has very solid numbers this year and should help out in that regard. Keep an eye on this team and it’s generous odds.

( DEADLY STORM x CRIMINAL TYPE x SON OF A BUCK) After two straight on the dirt, this chestnut colt was turned out onto the grass by trainer BBRS and the Knightmare Stables. He showed a nice increase in his SPF and looks like he likes the green stuff. He will have the solid credentials of Ryan on his back and perhaps this second foray onto the turf may bring another big improvement, maybe even enough to get in the mix here. He is still looking for his first win, this would be a great place to get it!

( ANTONIUS PIUS x HE ROCKET x BAKHAROFF) This chestnut colt from the Tees Stables is trained by Muninn and they have to be quite happy with the progress. He has come “Oh so Close” in five Stakes races which gives him a nice experience advantage here. He has been on the board in six of eight and loves the turf and the distance. His best SPF of 78 was actually at a mile but I still think he may be better here. He has the tracks best jock in the leather and this could be a tough team to beat. He loves the front which may be difficult from this post and he needs to learn how to hang on at the end but may be able to against this crowd.

(PROCLAMATION x HERAT x MOCK BIRD) This young lady won her first race in three tries last time out but desperately needs to increase her speeds to go against this crowd. Trainer Runvus2 and the Hawkz Racing Stables know this and will let jockey Lamond know what they expect. He has been having his own problems this year and may not help much. She likes to come from way back so he needs to make sure that she makes her move early enough here.

Even at this late date it is tough to pick these youngsters. I like DOOMBEN to finish fourth and with a better jockey would even go higher. ALTIERI SORT looks good but I think she will be better at the longer distances. She still looks tough though and I think she has enough to finish in the top three. JONES SPRING is getting some pub and is most folks favorite here but I want to see that he finally knows how to finish. That leaves the win for a bit of a surprise pick in ZIEJAIN who will stalk the leaders and pass them in the stretch to show that he is ready for the big time!
