Izaaq Hollandia outsprints his elders

Rosemont’s Izaaq Hollandia scored a one-length victory in the Thirty Seven Maker Challenge on Saturday. The 3-year-old Noverre colt, who went off at odds of 10-1, sat just off the speed dual of The Massive and Blues Event early before taking the lead at the top of the stretch. He was then able to hold off the late charge of favored Like The Rain to get the win. Like The Rain rallied from fifth place with a strong move in the stretch, but it was not enough to catch the winner. Kilbeggan Races also rallied in the stretch to pick up the show money. Second choice Calderazzo passed tired horses in the stretch but could do no better than fourth.
