1 3M LEMON CREAM PIE domenicr1 9/5 Lemon Drop Kid x Stage Door Johnny x Crème dela Crème
Record: 8 races: 3-2-2
The domenicr stables are pretty new, I see his name sometimes pop up on the newbieforum, and it looks like he has a Stakeswinner in his stables with this colt out of Lemon Drop Kid. He started racing on dirt but was soon tried on turf and stretched (which you have to do with such a pedigree) and has progressed since. Every race he ran on turf has been an improvement in speed and last time out he even posted a 105 speed figure on a wet track over 12 furlongs. This boy has talent and that talent has been discovered also by the bookies who show him as favourite in this race. I am sure her trainer will be very excited today to see her running.
2 3M SHIMISHIMISHAKE exclusive 9/2 Sahm x Rubiano x Roberto
Record: 15 races: 2-3-5
It did take 8 races for this colt to break his maiden. He followed up that maidenbreak by an allowancewin on 9f and since then he ran in small field Stakes like today. He has been placing himself a couple of times there but never really was able to show something special. Today he is stretched to 12 furlongs but he already shown he is a frontrunner and in his last races he proved he has been unable to follow the leaders and drop back. I do think 12 furlongs is way too far for this colt. He does not have too bad odds, but I think he is overrated in this race by the bookies.
3 3M EXCLUSIVE REASON sterlingra 4/1 Belong To Me x Lion Cavern x Sadler’s Wells
Record: 14 races: 4-1-1
Out of hemare L.C. Wells this son of Belong To Me has been starting to show some progress lately. He also started his career on dirt and the switch to turf also turned him around. He broke his maiden and was then tried in allowance races. It took her three races to accommodate and then she won two allowances in a row. She was stepped up in class and tried his luck in Stakes where he also needed a couple of races to get familiar. Last time out was the race where he showed his true class and he won on 9f in a good 96 Speed Figure. He really seems to like to settle himself in the middle of the pack and then closes in in the stretch. That running style might favour him now that he is stretched another three furlongs. Still remains a question whether he can handle that distance.
4 3M WAR IS OH KAY whip2win 6/1 Kayf Tara x War Emblem x Capote
Record: 10 races: 3-3-0
It was late june when this colt broke his maiden in a ten furlong race running from wire-to-wire. This was followed immediately by an allowancewin. Just like the horse in post 5 he is a frontrunner but his speed still is too low to be a threat in this race. Will need to progress a bit further to be really competitive in these races.
5 3M SEEKING AN EMPIRE fairhaven 9/2 Empire Maker x Seeking the Gold x Storm Bird
Record: 9 races: 4-1-0
This colt has a career till now of 9 races of which he won 4. Guess what: these four races are his last races to date so he sits a winningstreak at this moment. He broke is maiden only in May in his second try on turf and has not looked back since. His last race was the Hannibals Decathlon Stakes which he won wire-to-wire in a Speed of 100. No other in this race has done that and therefore for me this is the favourite.
