2 horse war in Arizona

Hello everybody and welcome to the Virginia for the feature event of the afternoon the simhistoy day Fabman Journey challenge to be ran over a mile on the dirt. Today’s weather is fine and the track is fast as six of the sims best fillies set out to grab the $75,000 on offer in today’s race. In what look’s a very even race on paper who will it be to pass the post in front? Let’s take a look at the form guide and find out.

PP1 115988 CHARISMATIC PARK(JPN) tbird2 S Sims 6/1
CHARISMATIC x WOODMAN x CARO(IRE)
Interesting runner who has yet to find his niche. She has been moved from wet dirt tracks to turf and back again. It has been 6 runs since she has faced a fast dirt track, that was way back in January when she raced ok without being spectacular. I believe she may like these conditions a little better than her trainer tbird2 first thought but she will need to improve quite a bit to beat home some of her rivals. However she is a 3 time stakes winner who you cannot count out. 12% lifetime jockey Shawn Sims has the ride and what better named jockey would you like to have on board your horse on SIM history day.

PP2
HOLLOW BAY(GB) peeps3 N Trumbull 4/1
BEAT HOLLOW (GB) x RAHY x GREEN DESERT
Lightly raced filly who, has 4 won from 6 starts on the dirt, all of which have been in route races. It was only back in March when she was able to break her maiden she went on a 3 race win streak, before stepping up to stakes class where she has been a failure so far. She followed her first poor showing in stakes with a huge win in allowance company but when she went back to stakes class she failed yet again but I will forgive her for that because it was a very very tough race at smackdown.. She is now at the crossroads and she must step up now to be a consistant stakes horse. Noel Turnbell has the ride which can not be a bad thing considering he has 16% winners this year, but the question remains what can Hollow Bay do in stakes class. I’m betting she will make some improvement.

PP3
CK BLURRED VISION(KY) docoz S Parker 2/1
DISTORTED HUMOR x DEPUTY MINISTER x ALYDAR
Co Favorite but in my eyes she is the true favorite for today’s race, undeafeated in 5 career starts CK BLURRED VISION has been brought through the grades nicely by trainer docoz after winning her maiden she won her next 3 races very easy in allowance company. She was given a test by here trainer last start by being put into a Grade 3 race bypassing stakes class but boy did she run her rivals off there feat in the last 3 furlongs to recored a very solid 1.25 length victory. Today she is back in class if anything and I would be very surprised if she does not win today. If she is going to become a true graded horse this is the kind of race she needs to win. I do find it strange however that 11% jockey Shorty Parker managed to get the ride ahead of some of the others but if she keeps going the way she is she could carry an elephant to victory.
PP4
GHOSTLY BREEZE(KY) lenny2 N Gardner 2/1
GHOSTZAPPER x PINE BLUFF x MEADOWLAKE
Topline performer as 2yo early 3yo who looks to be just a little past his best, even though she performed her career best SP last start she has stopped winning. A winner at her first 4 starts she has managed to win a race of every stakes class including the Grade 1 Sweet Nanette Stakes. She was sent down the hard road compeating in the bluegrass oaks and the middle flower stakes. After that she was given a nice 2 month break and came back with her best ever SP but unfortunately she was still 3.75 lengths from the top liners. While she is a very classy horse and also my 2nd pick I just don’t think she will have the fire power to catch CK BLURRED VISION. But trainer lenny2 did manage to get the top jockey Nigel Gardner so I still expect a big race, but just how big will it be only time will tell.

PP5
STAR OF THE NORTH(KY) snappa5 W Kewmwa 9/2
SEEKING THE GOLD x NORTHERN DANCER x SEATTLE SLEW
2 time Grade 2 winner out of the snappa5 stables, she is also coming off an average performance at one of the hardest tests on a horse SMACKDOWN, where she only managed to run 8.5 length 6th to speedometer over 7 furlongs. She will be back to routing today for the first time since her dismal failure in the Grade 1 Manhattan District Stakes back in August. I do expect to see a little improvement but without the a torrential downpour before the race I only expect her to be racing for 3rd. The one bonus she does have is the rookie sensation Wayne “wind mill whip” Kewmwa in the sadle who is on fire this year winning over 25% of his races but I suspect not even he can get Star of the North over the 2 favorites.

PP6
BALANCE(KY) chloedawg M Wolski 6/1
THUNDER GULCH x KRIS S. x FORLI
The last horse we have Balance is also coming off a “beating at Smackdown”. She didn’t quite have the firepower to win the 8f Grade 1 as she was beaten 10.25 lengths by Spooky Wildcat. Of late she seems to me to have been contesting races I don’t think she is quite ready for yet. She won her first stakes race 5 starts back with a 2.75 length victory over 8.5 furlongs but since then she has only contested Graded races, which she has been outclassed in. Today she is back in class but she is walking into a couple of better performed horses. She is however still on the improve and could make a very nice 4 or 5yo if she is protected by chloedawg over the next 6 months or so. 10% lifetime jockey Marty Wolski takes the ride but I don’t think even his magic will get Balance over the line first.
