MANNIS TURF SPRINT PROMISES EXCITEMENT!
Sim History day in Germany brings the running of MANNI’S TURF SPRINT. The 6 furlong sprint will be held on the main turf course which is expected to be in excellent condition on race day. This stakes race carries a purse of $75,000 and is open to all horses, 3 years old and up. A competitive field of 9 take the post on Saturday to honor Manni and sim history.
PP 1: TSUNAMI SPANGLER (Tsunami Slew X Conquistador Cielo X Full Out) 9/1
This 7 year old horse was bred and has been raced exclusively by fredtaylor. He is a multiple stakes winner with earnings of almost $200,000 but seems to be past his prime. He has been raced lightly in 2007 and has improved in each of his 3 starts. Finished 2nd in his last start on this track and distance but will need a huge improvement over this years speed figures of 92,96 and 86 to figure into this one.
PP2: A BIT OF ALL RIGHT(IRE) (Perfect Soul X Distorted Humor X Halo) 9/5
A very consistent 4 year old colt bred and currently raced by acadie with earnings of $267,000. From 6 turf starts this year (4stakes and 2 allowances) he has a record of 6-1-3-2. He has speed figures of 103 and 100 over 6 furlongs and most recently ran a 108 over 7.5 furlongs. He has raced effectively from the lead and also came from midpack. The bettors have made him morning line favorite and he should be in the mix at the wire.
PP3: WANT TO DANCE (Mr. Greeley X Habitat X Turn-To) (9/2)
Another homebred/raced colt who is managed by sjmeola6 . A winner of 2 stakes races earlier this year while in the U.S.A. with speeds of 102 and 106 but unfortunately has not matched this form since shipping to Europe for the G2 THE KING’S FALL.The 4 year old colt did manage a 2nd in his last start and earned a 96 speed figure. He is currently co 2nd choice in the betting and will need to be every bit as good as his last start to earn a check this weekend.
PP4: IDEAL CHARISMA (Charismatic X Awesome Again X Valid Appeal) (92/1)
The only filly in the race, she has never won a Non M/C/O/S. Her current form is not enough to be a factor in this race.
PP5: PINFIRE (Grindstone X Dodge X El Gran Senor) (14/1)
A 4 year old colt, managed by vermacht, whose shortest recent race is 8.5 furlongs,in which he posted a 94 speed figure. Had a 3 race win streak of 9.5,10, and 16 furlongs. His breeding and past performances seem to suggest he would be better suited at longer distances but stranger things have happened and he has won 1 sprint race.
PP6: ROYAL JACK(IRE) (Irish Royal X Bionic Prospect X Egg Toss) (9/2)
The other co 2nd choice horse is a 6 year old chestnut horse bred and raced by bizalls. This horse ran fifth in his last start,THE NORTHEN VICTOR E Memorial Stakes with a speed of 99 and also has a win over the track at 5 furlongs with a 98 speed. If jockey N. Butts can stay in the saddle he might pick up a paycheck this week.
PP7: CATAHOULA TOUGHY(KY) (During X General Holme X Fabulous Dancer) (18/1)
A very nice 3 year old colt bred by catahoula and manged by slacker who was a stakes winner as a 2 year old but has not returned to that level of performance. He is a very consistent horse at the starter level having had a 5 race winning streak earlier this year before 2 poor performances on dirt.
PP8: WILE COYOTE (Danzig X Blushing Groom X Bold Lad) (5/1)
A 6 year old brown colt owned by super22 who was on a 2 race win streak before finishing 9th in THE NORTHERN VICTOR E Memorial Stakes in his last start. Consistently runs 6 furlongs in the 90’s. May win a check if Royal Jacks jockey is ineffective.
PP9: ONCE HAUNTED (Silver Ghost X Danehill X Sadlers Wells) (6/1)
Bred by vegasjef and managed by loubrown this beautiful grey horse has 13 wins and earnings of over 1.6 Million! He is a G1 winner of the RISING SON SPRING CUP on 5/13/06 with a speed of 106. He last won THE SMASH CLAIM Stakes on 4/7/07 over 6 furlongs in South Dakota. Since then he has shipped to Europe where he has had some trouble adjusting although he did finish 3rd in his last start,THE SERPENTINE SEATTLE Special with a speed of 90. He will benefit greatly from veteren jockey T. Small and I look for him to be in the mix at the wire.
