THE LADY’S GO LONG ON THE TURF IN JERSEY HEADLINER

There are only two Grade I events in simland this week and one of them is here in New Jersey with the running of The Grade I Queen Cersei Stakes. The race is restricted to fillies and mare’s 4 year old and up and will be run 11 furlongs on the turf course and will offer a purse of $500,000.

Let’s take a look at today’s field:

1)WICKED WENCH(IRE)—8/5—tesio sends this 4 year old filly out of MONJEU(IRE) with a record of 16-8-4-0 and lifetime earnings of $1,414,890. This 8th divisional ranked filly runs for the executive director of the GR Simsters, Galileo. This mare was a 7 time winner in her first racing season last year (she was unraced at 2 years old). Included in those wins were 2 Grade I’s and 1 Grade II stakes races. She posted her lifetime best speed rating of 110 in her only victory so far this year in the 11 furlong Grade II Yabba Dabba Doo Handicap in Ascot. She came back last time out to run an even 4th in a Grade I event here in New Jersey against the top long turf routers in the world. While she has shown an abilithy to stalk from just off the pace in the past her best results are when she is on or pressing the early pace. The jockey for today’s race is Benisz (25.4%).

2)OH SUSANNAH—9/1—squirrel5 sends this 4 year old filly out of GONE WEST with a record of 26-4-4-6 and lifetime earnings of $360,190. This 138th divisional ranked filly runs for the squirrel stables based out of the GR Simsters racing club. This filly enters this race after capturing her first lifetime stakes win last time out by winning the 11 furlong The Lady Blow Memorial Stakes in New Hampshire. She posted her lifetime best 102 speed rating last season in the 12 furlong GR Simsters Championship Turf where she rallied in the stretch to finish 2nd just missing out the win by 1/4 length. She is back on the long turf routes now after trying to sprint earlier this season without much success. She is one of only 2 real closers in the race today and will have alot of speed to chase in the stretch run of this 11 furlong race. The jockey for today’s race will be Myslinski (6.7%).

3)COMFORTABLY PYE—7/1—bushmonste sends this 4 year old filly out of SILVER GHOST with a record of 22-5-3-1 and lifetime earnings of $163,228. She is out of the he/mare COMFORTABLY NUMB who was 5/39 at the track and this will be the only foal on record unless there are some more sim medical breakthroughs to allow multiple breedings after the famed “twas a he but is now a she” surgery. This 324th divisional ranked filly is a stable mate of  SEMI CHARMED PYE(IRE) in the Pye Stables over in GR Simster land. This filly will be looking for her 1st lifetime stakes win in today’s Grade I event. She posted her lifetime best 101 speed rating 2 starts back while winning a 10 furlong NW4X allowance race in Deleware. She raced in the Smackdown III 11 furlong turf race last time out where she pressed the early pace but eventually tired and finished in 9th. She will probably be charging with the many other frontrunners in today’s race and may be called upon to set the race up for her stablemate who is one of only 2 legitimate closer’s in today’s field. The rider for today’s race will be Kramer (4.8%).

4)DYNAHIGH(IRE)—4/1—burnin sends this 5 year old mare out of HIGH CHAPARRAL(IRE) with a record of 35-12-5-3 and lifetime earnings of $1,048,722. She is out of the mare DRY RAIN who was 8/41 at the track and who has 4 foals on record of which 2 are winners including 1 Graded stakes winner. This 93rd divisional ranked mare runs for the Oneworld stables managed by Minnesota Downs trainer Randy. This mare has won 10 stakes races in her career including 3 Graded stakes events. She posted her lifetime best 104 speed rating while finishing 2nd in The Grade II Empire State Cap over 10 furlongs last year in New York. She did win The Grade II Barbara Bush Stakes in Northern California 3 starts back posting a 102 speed rating over the 10 furlong race. This will mark the first time in her career that she has extended in distance past 10 furlongs and she has been most successfull on the front end and with the abundance of speed in today’s race she will have to be rated perfectly in order to be able to handle the extra furlong in today’s race. The jockey for today’s race will be Walker (14.5%).

5)VOUVRAY—4/1—rx7 sends this 4 year old filly out of KINGMAMBO with a record of 15-6-4-2 and lifetime earnings of $240,050. This 25th divisional ranked filly runs for Pedro’s Racing Empire based in the EAAA racing association. This 3 time stakes winning mare will be looking for her first Graded stakes win today. She posted her lifetime best 102 speed rating in her second last start while finishing 2nd in The Giolla Padraig Special Stakes in Longchamp over 10.5 furlongs on the turf. In her last start 2 weeks ago she ran 5th around the race track in the Smackdown III 11 furlong turf race. She races best when near the front of the pack albeit she did show an ability to close very early in her career. The rider for today’s race will be Squitieri (11.4%).

6)STOP THE GROOM T—5/1—priceless sends this 5 year old mare out of RUNAWAY GROOM with a record of 45-12-8-10 and lifetime earnings of $605,085. This 22nd divisional ranked mare runs for the Tsyndicate Group located at the NWRC. This 8 time stakes winner will be looking for her 1st Graded stakes win today. After posting 7 wins last year she has yet to find the winner’s circle so far in 8 starts this year albeit she has 4 second place finishes in those races. Her lifetime best 102 speed rating was posted early last year while winning the 13 furlong The Nicole Roo(IRE) Challenge Stakes in Texas. She has posted one other triple digit speed rating figure which came in her first race of this year. She enters this race off a 4th place finish in the Smackdown III competition just 2 weeks ago. She is another who appears to run most successfull when on or pressing the early lead. The jockey for today’s race will be Case (16.6%).

7)SEMI CHARMED PYE(IRE)—8/1—lordpye4 sends this 4 year old filly out of THEATRICAL(IRE) with a record of 13-4-3-2 and lifetime earnings of $122,029. This 114th divisional ranked filly runs for the aggressive Big Oil Conglomerate, one of the large corporate stables based in the GR Simsters racing organization. This filly will be looking for her first ever stakes victory in today’s Grade I race and enters this contest with an 0/2 stakes record albeit she did finish in the top 3 in both of those races. She posted her lifetime best speed rating of 97 two starts back while winning a NW4X allowance over 12 furlongs on the turf in Longchamp. She has proven she can rally from off the pace and while her speed ratings may not match others in this race she may be able to take advantage of the abundance of early speed here today and pass them all in the stretch with a properly timed move. The jockey for today’s race will be Lofton (5.3%).

A lot of speed in today’s race and I am going to go on a hunch and pick the closer SEMI CHARMED PYE(IRE) to pass them all in the stetch drive.
