1 | ROD’S TRIPLE CROWN(JPN) | 16/1 | Scratch bred that hasn’t been OTM since switching to grass. Broke maiden in a $30,000 maiden claimer. Has just advanced in a NW2L allowance short field. We would have to believe trainer spotted this short field and said, “what the hey”, may as well give it a shot J Not a bad choice by any means. However, even to cash a minor check will take a big jump in speed. Wishing both horse and trainer the best.
2 | MR. INCONSPICUOUS(KY) | 5/2 |
Nothing inconspicuous about this colt whose out of a nice “C” rated mare. Stalker type coming off a nice 2nd place finish at NH last out. Rated 58th on the rating charts and has the benefit of Ross in the irons. Colt had a very nice 2yo season and is fairing well as a 3yo. No easy task here but could get the job done. With a good break from the gate, this colt will be close to a very fast pace; and if in top form, should be there at the end.
3 | HIGH AT JUMBO’S(FR) | 7/2 |
Out of an “E” rated he/she mare, this guy has only been OTM one time in 10 outings. Silver, 2nd top jock at
4 | 2/1 |
One of the better Milwaukee Brew’s in the sim. Out of a “G” rated mare, this event fits him like a glove. Likes to make lead horses sweat by making presence known 2-3 lengths back. His jock “the Wimp”, loves to be on a horse with his style. Broke maiden on the brown stuff but really likes green. Will be coming at them in the stretch.
5 | CHASING TALE(KY) | 6/1 |
Scratch bred Tale of the Cat on the improve. Another that broke his maiden in a claimer and just succeeded in a NW2L. Red hot right now and may have some class. Hard to figure this type out until after the jump in class. In a short field such as this, he should cash some $$$.
6 | ULTHAR(KY) | 3/1 |
Out of a “G” rated mare with a smelly name J, this colt is coming off his best SP to date. Two things are in the making here. Either he fires big time or bounces like a rubber ball. Which will it be is unknown, but experience says bounce. Whatever happens it won’t be because of a bad ride, as Ironside is one of the best at holding a young colt together.
Looking forward to the Summer break and wish all you trainers the best with your horses. “May your horses run swift and injury free”
