Buckley’s Chance broke her maiden in her first try. She covered the 6 furlongs with a speed rating of 67. She then faced an Allowance NW2L field at 7.5 furlongs. She set the pace for the bulk of the race before being passed just before the wire. Her speed figure for that race was a very respectable 80.

Post 2 – MEDAGLIA ROAD – 7-2 – kody3

Unraced roan daughter of Medaglia D’Oro is bred out of Nureyev Quality (Quality Road x Nureyev). Nureyev Quality was in the top 3 in a grade 1 and 2 grade 2 events. She won over $500,000 in her career. Her best races were between 11 and 12 furlongs.

With Nureyev Quality taking quite a few races to get to the winners circle it may take this one a little time too.

Post 3 – MAILED FIST – 13-1 – direwolf
Mailed Fist is a scratch bred light grey filly. Her pedigree is Tapiture x Kris x Grey Dawn 2nd.

Mailed Fist gradually improved in her first 3 races before getting her picture taken in her fourth attempt. She then faced an Allowance NW2L at 7 furlongs. In that race she ran near the pace before fading and finishing with a speed rating of 74.

Post 4 – TAKE FORTY SUMMERS – 10-1 – bmr004

This bay scratch bred filly’s pedigree is Take Chare Indy x Forty Niner x Summer Squall.

Take Forty Summers has 2 wins to her credit. She ran 2nd in her debut, then broke her maiden and then in an Allowance NW1X stalked the pace and closed to win by a neck. She has yet to race at a distance longer than 5.5 furlongs.

Post 5 – FOOLISH MON – 8-1 – silversky3

This light grey scratch bred filly has the following pedigree, Union Rags x Maria’s Mon x Foolish Pleasure.

Foolish Mon has never finished worse than second in her 2 starts. In her debut attempt she finished 2nd by a ½ length at 5.5 furlongs. In her second attempt she closed to win by ½ length earning a 76 speed rating at 6 furlongs.

Post 6 – NEW ENUFF BABY – 11-1 – dancecrasher

This chestnut filly is the daughter of I’ll Have Another. She is the 3rd foal out of Crystal Arch (Arch x Mr. Prospector)

New Enuff Baby is still a maiden after her first 2 attempts to get in the winner’s circle. She improved her speed figures from 59 at 5.5 furlongs in her first start to 69 at today’s distance of 7.5 furlongs.

Post 7 – PLAYED IN INDY – 8-1 – harrylanexp15

Played In Indy is a brown scratch bred, Violence x Forty Niner x A.P. Indy.

She has one start in which she broke on top and faded to 5th at 7 furlongs running a 65 speed rating. This one is looking for improvement in her second start.

Post 8 – PAINT ME A WILDCAT – 8-1 – fishstix1
This filly is the daughter of Margie’s Wildcat out of War Paynt (Paynter x Indian Charlie). She is War Paynt’s 2nd foal.

Paint Me A Wildcat broke her maiden after finishing 2 in her first 2 starts. She then ran 4th in an Allowance NW2L at 7 furlongs. She finished as the runner up with a speed figure of 80 in her last race at 6.5 furlongs at the same level.

Post 9 – CASH CANYON – 9-1 – dontbetonme11

This bay filly is the daughter of Canyon Creek(IRE). She is out of Cash For Kirby (Dynaformer x Encosta De Lago(AUS)). Cash Canyon is the fourth foal. The first foal was a Grade 3 winner and the 2nd foal was a stakes winner.

Cash Canyon has 3 wins in 6 starts. She broke her maiden in an Allowance NW2N race after finishing 2nd in a HOT race in her debut. She then ran 2nd in a $8,000 claimer race. Dontbetonme11 trained her for a win at the starter allowance level. She showed much improvement after switching to turf in her next 2 by finishing 2nd in an Allowance NW3L and winning an open allowance with a speed figure of 82.

Post 10 – AILSA – 9-1 – runninwolf

Ailsa is a scratch bred filly (Carpe Diem x Mr. Prospector x Seattle Slew).

Ailsa broke her maiden in her second start. She finished 4th in her first start and then showed improvement at the 5.5 furlong distance by running a 69 speed rating and getting her picture taken. She then faced winners in an Allowance NW2L. She ran near the pace and then faded over the 6 furlong distance.

Post 11 – MBUNA DANCE – 9-1 – dustyla8

Mbuna Dance is a scratch bred filly with a Drosselmeyer x Pulpit x Gone West pedigree.

She has won 3 times in her first four starts on both turf and dirt with a 2nd by a ½ length on a synthetic surface being her worst finish. She is also the lone stakes winner in the field by taking the Nine Bold Rubys Turf Juvenile Fillies Stakes race with a speed rating of 78. Is was contested at 5 furlongs which is also the longest race she has been in.

I would look for Buckley’s Chance and Mbuna Dance to hook up on the front end to set the pace. New Enuff Baby, Played In Indy and Ailsa will try to go with the first 2 but expect them to fade in the stretch. Foolish Mon, Paint Me A Wildcat, Take Forty Summers, Mailed Fist and Cash Canyon will try to come from off the pace. The wildcard in the race is Medaglia Road since there is no previous races to judge ability.

At the wire I think it will be Buckley’s Chance and Paint Me A Wildcat fighting it out for the win. Foolish Mon will be third and Mbuna Dance will be fourth.
