From Aqueduct race track in Ozone Park, New York we bring you the Grade 1 marathon event, The Empire State Stayer. Run at a mile and three quarters (or ~2800 meters for the metric adherents), a competitive field of twelve fillies and mares will try to out last each other and lay claim to the winner’s share of the $750,000 purse up for grabs. The winning connections will celebrate at the trophy presentation after the race.

Breeders’ Bowl Dirt Marathon runner up UNBRIDLED LOGIC and 3rd place finisher HEWHOSITSONHIGH renew their rivalry in this lung buster, and sit atop the morning line at odds of 4/1 and 7/2, respectively. Former G1 champion DREAM SIMULATOR and recent G2 winner KING’S KITTEN have both won at this distance, and offer good value at better than 10/1 odds. She was an uninvolved 8th of ten in her prior run in the Buck The System listed stakes at 11 furlongs, pushing a 100 SP#. Stretch runner from the vkstables racing group steps way up in first grade/group try, may be along for a minor award on top try.

Bay four year old filly by Arch, out of the sim mare Unsurpassable (by Giant’s Causeway), took the Lady Cynthia listed stakes in latest at 13 panels, busting a 110 SP# in a stalking trip. Agk04 protege tired to 3rd one back of that in the Ms Prospector listed at 16 furlongs, bagging a 91 SP# chasing the pace setter. One before that she won the Her Beef listed at two miles, banking a 94 SP# in a front running performance. Should be close early, will try to get the jump on the deep closers.

Stretches out and steps up in first grade/group try off an impressive triumph in her stakes debut, the Cheyenne Storm listed stakes at 12 furlongs, sizzling a 112 SP# moving from 8th of nine. Scratch bred Smart Strike senorita (by Deputy Minister), came on for 2nd in her prior try in a NW4L allowance at 10 furlongs, slashing s 105 SP# behind a runaway winner. One back of that she just missed when a closing 2nd in the same conditions, smacking a 107 SP# with her typical late run. Brown three year old filly from the mtkgrs1 barn should handle distance; improving sort can surprise on best.

Quality Road qutie, out of the stakes placed sim mare Big Hana (by Nureyev), backed up to 9th in prior start in the G3 Victory Marathon at this route on dirt, flipping a 102 SP# after being prominent early. One before that he was a good 2nd in the G2 Big Desert Stakes at 12 panels, flashing a 114 SP# from just off the pace. Could be an early pace factor, dangerous if unchallenged early.

King Kamehameha kipper, out of the stakes placed sim mare Tommy’s Kitten (by Kitten’s Joy), got 2nd one before that in the Universal Melbourne listed stakes at two miles om the green, casting a 90 SP# in a four horse affair. She was 6th first off the claim in the G1 The Great Dane at this route on dirt, copping a 103 SP#. Bay four year old filly from the kingscourt12 racing operation could be coming late in the lane, may upset them all at 14/1 on the morning line.

Street Cry sistah, out of the sim mare Ezekiel Messages (by Dynaformer), was 2nd behind UNBRIDLED LOGIC one back of that in the G1 The Great Dane at this trip, snaring a 108 SP# in a mid pack trip. In her prior start she ran off with the G2 Big Desert Stakes at 12 furlongs, scorching a 116 SP# while a little closer to the pace. Second choice of the handicapper was an excellent 2nd last out in the G1 Breeders’ Bowl Dirt Marathon at this trip, zapping a 117 SP# in a mid pack run. Roan four year old filly ran off with the G1 The Great Dane at this distance one back of that, zipping a 110 SP# with others in here in her wake. Scratch bred Malibu Moon miss (by Unbridled’s Song), was a distant 4th in her previous outing, a G1 Equinics event at two miles, zinging a 104 SP# gaining some ground late. Flagdown4 runner has three G1 triumphs on her resume, and has made the exacta every time she’s gone this route; looks like the one to beat in this heat.

Hailing from the simsters1 stable is this bay three year old filly, who exits a closing 3rd in the Wild Cat Tales listed stakes at 12 furlongs, snatching a 107 SP# in a mid pack trip. Afleet Alex ace, out of the graded placed, stakes winning sim mare Strategic Weapon (by Gone West), was 3rd one before that in the Trillium listed at 9.5 panels, snagging a 104 SP# . In her previous try she was a well beaten 10th in the G1 Birmingham Stakes at 10 furlongs, stashing a 102 SP#. Stretches out facing her elders for the first time, will need some further improvement to factor with these.

Scratch bred Tizway toughie (by Storm Bird) flew home for 3rd one before that in the Wondergirl Elf listed, also at 12 furlongs, grasping a 109 SP#. Her prior run was a fast closing 2nd in the Catz Dance listed at 11 panels, grabbing a 108 SP# moving from last of seven. Runner from the rocket724 stable should appreciate extra distance, could be a stretch threat in first grade/group try on the dirt.
