Spotlight Tipsheet: West Virginia 12/8/16

The Spotlight makes a final stop at West Virginia which wraps up coverage in the North Eastern Americas division.   Interestingly, there are seven races on the program and all are for 2 year olds only.   Of the 92 horses running, not one of them have a win.  So we have only maiden races.  Here’s my shot at trying to find some winners:

Race 1  MSW  Race ID:  1761744

7 DARJEU SENSE  12/1-Speeds have hit 70’s and races quite frequently.  Still can get the job done.

13  AMY’S READY  5/1-Nice 2nd when moving to turf in last, not out of the picture.

2 BLAMEITONTHEFAME  4/1-First time starter with grass ability in bloodline, could win first time out.

Race 2  MSW  Race ID:  1782178

13  LEMON DREAMS  6/1-Finished second twice in three starts with one off-board finish which was on wet track.  Goes on dry and may fly this time.

8  SEOUL DEEPER  6/1-A second and third in two tries both on dirt with competitive speeds.  Brings that over to grass for first run on surface.  Worth a shot.

7  DROSSELZAPPER  5/1-Some nice breeding that hasn’t worked out to well on dirt.  Grass may offer better results.

Race 3  MSW  Race ID : 1782179

5  U CAN’T STOP ME  7/2-Missed in debut on turf by under a stride finishing 2nd.  Flipped to dirt in last taking third.  Back to grass and may not be stoppable this time.

10  THIS BABE ISA BOSS  8/1-Six start split between dirt and turf with best speeds on turf, topping at 78.  May be able to use this to break maiden.

12  LADY SARAH ASHLEY  7/2-Has taken lead into stretch in both career starts to be run down.  Should last for a part of the pie once again.

Race 4  MSW  Race ID : 1761802

1  CAPTAIN BABA  6/1-Frequent runner who has been nudging upward in the speed category with each start.  Has best number currently in field.

11 MIGHT BE GOLD  19/1-Second in both career starts and odds seem high.  Not best bred in field, but results are a statement that can’t be ignored.  Price could be big one.

8  KYMARA RALOOK  11/1-First time starter that I like the breeding line..not an all-star line and does come with a bit of inbreeding.

Race 5  MSW  Race ID : 1782180

7  NINE ROADS  5/1- Just missed in debut race by neck at wire closing hard.  Adds a furlong and gets job done.

9  LUCKY AFFIRMED  6/1-Closed from 11th to take 3rd.  Also adds a furlong and will battle with top choice.

3  CRESCITELLI  7/2-First time starter out of G2 winning Bocanagain.  Luck may have flowed into this ones genes.

Race 6  MSW  Race ID : 1762067

8  TINY COUCH POTATO  3/1-Mile proofed to be a bit too long in debut, scales back to 7 furlongs and should benefit.

5  GREATESTLOVEOFALL 6/1-Awesome Again bred colt has had tough time being awesome.  Kicks back the distance a bit and may find something from it.

12-LORD DARLINGTON  5/2-First time starter is son of Kitten’s Joy and has nice Ds x Dss and could be competitive in debut.

Race 7  MSW  Race ID : 1782181

7  PIFFING STONES  10/1-Tried out turf in last and closed strongly to finish third.  Surface may suit.

2  READY ANYTIME  6/1-Changed racing style in last by going to front and faded to second going mile.  Cuts back to 7 furlongs and if goes to front again, may last this time.

12  OG CAIRO  15/1-Second in both lifetime starts in claimers, moves  up to allowance and brings 82 speed from last.
