The Expensive Jalopy

 We are here at Victoria Australia for the running of The Expensive Jalopy. the runners at the gate for this $1,500,000 G1 Race going over  12F. its a bit overcast at the moment but the track is good for racing. we have a few runners to load so lets take a quick look at the runners and see if we can spot the winner.

 

 

 

 

 

#1 FASTING AND PRAYER……….7/2

Fast  And Prayer  started off good for the 2016 season when he won the Marcos Footwear Handicap by 2 1/2L going 10F with speed of 116 . went up in grade in the Sand Castle Golden Turf Classic and finish 6th by 6 3/4L. ran well in the G1 Manha Manha Challenge to finish second but was beaten in his last race where he finish 7th looking very fit and can fight out the finish here.                                    

 

 

 

#2  ZILLION TO ONE………8/1

Zillion To One  has 4 starts so far this year where he won a local stakes race then ran third in the Grand Brazilian by 7 3/4L was beaten in the Saint  Cloud Grand Prix by all of 15 1/4L never look all that good. came back down in class where he won a $43,800 Allowance by 2 3/4L to win easy. now up in class once again should see him giving it his best shot.

 

 

 

#3 LONGWALK TOFREEDOM……….11/1

Longwalk To Freedom has shown any real good form in Grade race until he win the Dawn to Dusk Cup by 1 1/2L came back to run in the sword Swallower stakes and never had a chance so i think that he have to improve a lot to have a chance here.

King’s Stone  A local stakes winner out of the Dam  KING’S HALO has finish a 3rd and a 2nd in G3 races step up in grade in the G1 Equinics and finish 12 by 24 1/4L never did get going and have the class to match up to them and now in the same situation here will find it very hard to get a top finish.

Best Day  who is at 5/1 in the early morning line up has won two Stakes race early up in the year has done very well when he won the G3 Great Beer Cap and second in the G2 Grand Prix. came back from a 1 month lay off to win the G1 United Countries Handicap by 3/4L with speed figure of 116. then went to Brazil to run in the Equinics where he was coming form well of the pace to finish 6th by 7 3/4L. now if he is not that too far this time around you could see him fight out this one.

Damper Rock  A 4yo bay colt Owned and Trained Jrogue stable out of the  million dollar Dam PLEASANT DAMPER has not done notting right so far this year his best race was back on the 30/4/2016 when he ran in the G3 Chaucer Gold Cup and finish 4th by 6L up in G1 will find it hard and out pace here.

Montana’s Rocket  out of SEA THE STARS (IRE) x MONTJEU x DYNAFORMER bred by Kyoglewyn and owned by Montanarox nice looking Filly who won the Burg Stirring Turf Mare Challenge by 2 1/2L finish 3rd in the Hot Polly G2 race.  step up in class in the G1 Equinics going over 10F and finish a good seventh by only 3 3/4L coming from off the pace now going 2F longer i think she has a very good chance of winning this one here.

Nate Dogg nice looking horse who has done well for his trainer Simsters is 10 from 24 starts. won his last two races in  stakes race in good style. now make a huge jump to G1 should see him getting close.

Eskhenry  at 18/1 and getting old looking to be very fit at the moment. won his last race going 12F in the Dynafor Boom Turf Endurance by 3L has been earning money here and there. taking on Graded horses for the first time will have to work very hard.

Eastern Approach  what can i say has done every thing that he has been ask of and done it well always give a 100% at all time.; is bred by NEW APPROACH (IRE) x MISWAKI x KRIS S. and Owned and Trained by Monmouth stable and is going to be very hard to beat with Jockey K . Ledwith in the saddle who replace F .Gossett.
