3/1 SILVER GLORY(KY)
Breaking out of the inside gate, Silver Glory is coming off a lifetime best race in The Banana Stallion Stake. That effort in that race ties with Muzdaher with a 95 SP but what I really like about him is the fact that he has improved in just about race he ran. He looks to make it three wins in a row with race. I see one of two things here. Either we have a horse on the brink of greatness or he’s due for a major bounce.
PP 2
6/1 POWER FLEET(GB)
Continuing on with his turf career, Power Fleet has an outside chance at breaking out here. Some of the media are still a little perplexed with the continuation on the turf as he seemed to show decent speed on the dirt earlier in his career. He hasn’t shown much in his last three starts in the weeds and if he fails to hit the board again you could see him on the main track in his next race. He’ll need to show me more than he has lately to get my nod.
PP 3
4/1 FANG(AUS)
Fang does have the experience of two off track races so far in his career and neither seemed to affect him much. This could play well depending on the pace. Although he isn’t blessed with a lot of all out speed he has ran steady and is 75% ITM. If he can catch a good trip and take advantage of the soggy course, he could be the surprise of the race.
PP 4
10/1 SAGASPECTOR(FR)
Sagaspector’s don’t seem to be in any hurry with their colt. He once again is coming off a semi-layoff perhaps in hopes that he can show the kind of brilliance he had two races back in The Graphic With Jumbo Memorial. That 90 SP he ran seemed to come out of nowhere but is it a fluke? I don’t argue with the tactic though as he may just be a late developer but his inconsistencies are still too much for me to give him much consideration.
PP 5
2/1 MUZDAHER(KY)
Our morning line favorite, Muzdaher looks to find the winner circle in a stakes event again today. Something that has eluded him since early October. However, out of the seven stake races he’s raced in his young career he’s only finished off the board once with two wins. He’s fresh off a an allowance prep race win and should pose a substantial threat here today.
PP 6
5/2 ULTIMATE WEAPON(KY)
Ultimate Weapon seems to have found new life after switching to turf two races back. Although he posted decent numbers on the dirt his connections decided to give the grass a try and he responded exceptionally well in his second start last time out. He ties with the highest SP of any of our competitors at 95 and has won on an off track, even if it was on the dirt track. We’ll have to see if that off track ability will transfer to the grass but should he respond well along with his recent speed he could be the one to beat.
