Several Win Streaks On The Line
(SP)Wyoming- Once again the WRC resorts to a mediocre horse to honor. The horse is question has an offspring that is running better than the parent and that in itself is not that great of an effort. To top it off this is the third running of the event, an event that is also run in New South Wales. A WHOA spokes person has stated that is such a hopeless cause trying to get things better organized her that it is becoming a running joke. The sad thing, the spokes person went on to say, is that it is reflecting poorly on the rest of the racing here in Wyoming. Any hope of upgrading our status in the near future is not a viable option. Anyway this Saturday will be the third running of the Salty Fanfare Challenge. It is a seven and a half furlong sprint for three year olds. The $40,000 event has drawn six entrants coming in on their own winning streaks. Here are our lucky runners.
First Cadeaux(GB) entered by angeli. This globe trotting British colt comes in with plenty of experience at the stakes level. The front runner has done well in short fields and this will be to his advantage here. If the past two Challenges winning times are any indication then this colt is 20 points to slow.
Rock Mining(JPN) entered by bradyboy. This Japanese bred colt comes in off of a two win streak and is looking to make it three. The front runner has slowly been improving and is primed to make a splash at stakes level. Having the wily veteran Vince Gannon in the irons can only enhance his chances.
Frenzy entered by super9. This colt stays in Wyoming and is looking to add a second win, but this time at stakes level. The pace setter was recently move to the grass and has improved dramatically. Familiarity with the track and a good practice week has him set for a top finish.
Rockin Vegas entered by kidvegas. So far this year this chestnut colt has looked very strong. The pace setter comes in fresh off a nice stakes win and setting his sights for the silver here as well. He has the top jockey Jesse Sands in the irons to lead him to victory.
Go To Jumbo‘s entered by 4play. After three very short sprint wins in a row this colt will be stretching it out for Saturday. The stalker has only stretched out once to mediocre results and rumor states he has stamina problem. Whatever the case, many questions should be answered on the weekend.
Pollard‘s Light entered by ohiovalley. It seems a switch in trainer was all the this chestnut needed to elevate his runs. The stalker comes in with a four win record, the last being at stakes level. He has hot jockey in the irons and the combination should prove eventful.
