1 | WILDEST SLEW | 2/1 | Out of a “G” rated mare available to all; this 5yo mare is in fine form at the moment. Pacemaker and/or stalker she fits well here. Just missed in last when caught at the 1/16th pole after leading, she will again have to face another speedball in the #2 entry. This race being shorter, she may well have to have the lead again as her closing ability is limited.
2 | TALE OF | 8/5 |
Well, what’s not nice to say about this gal? Filly’s mare has produced two stakes winners. This 4yo has 14…yes, 14 wins in only 19 starts! Trainer has the wonderful option of running her on dirt or turf with the same results. Last out was asking a bit much, but she should rebound here. That last G1 try was her first time OTM, and probably surprised herJ Back in a listed stake and softer competition, she should regain her tenacity in this. Ross won’t hold back here.
3 | SNOOTY | 3/1 |
We can’t just chalk this mare off, not with her nice win in last. She has a stakes victory some time back and is in good form. With the short field, her chance lays in sticking fairly close to the pace, and an all out drive in the stretch hoping the leaders will falter.
4 | PT’S | 6/1 |
Tough task for this former claimer. She does well enough within her class, but she doesn’t appear to have the class here. Her only shot would be to break cleanly, and go all out on the front end hoping for a bounce from the top two.
5 | EMBARGO( | 9/2 |
4yo filly coming into nice form at present. Hasn’t been overly competitive in stakes fields and runs into a couple of toughies here. She’s due for a bust out race. This should show whether she might need to finish conditions first before continuing with these fields. Confidence is everything.
